I still have to do the review š on the train now so itās a little difficult but I am listening up and down, and man, itās so good. Itās not my favorite but itās still a fantastic album with some real gems ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø
What bothers me is that I really wished We Could Have It All would be a song that I 100% adored. The build up is so comfy and great and it just gives me a fuzzy warm feeling. The bad-luck token section, the āeverybodyā lines, the āresignationā bit... but the chorus ruins it for me and Iām not really into her whiny vocals here tbh... itās still a good song I just hoped for something astonishing and just as nostalgic after that build up.
However, I love the M!ss nods on this album a lot. Hey Why sounds like her and Linda trying to figure out pro tools LOL Happy!!!!!!!! The lyrics on CWP and Circle Game... just the overall feeling and her melancholy and introversion are really touching!
Then her vocals on Last Song and especially Love Me Anway ā¤ļø Woman, youāre fucking STUNNING!!
Ugh, for now I really adore this album and I hope it stays that way. I was wishing for her to go one step further after BT and she totally did!

Today I listened to the whole Album for the first Time. Overall i like it. But there is one song that I will skip permanently. The Last Song Of Your Life. I just donāt like it. The Song Courage is okay but I could do with the courage to change part. Donāt know my favorite yet, but Happy and Can we pretend are far up there.

I read Billyās Madonna thing. I read your comment. And maybe youāre right but Iām TOTALLY somewhere else with this That's what I love with her songs. We can't be sure what a song is about. The song has the possibility to become whatever it is to somebody that listens to it. I read a review saying that the song was about her father. That was my first thought when I read the title but I don't feel it that way. For me, it's more about old friends seeing each others after a long time. And I don't know why, but I think about a conversation between Billy Mann and Pink. What is your interpretation, if you want to share, obviously.š Just saw this Well in short, what Iām thinking is that the āsongā in this song is not an actual song. If I make senseāŗļø I see it as a metaphor for something else. This song (the actual song) could be about a friend or just something she values in friends/people and wants to see more of, not less š but then again Iām always weird with my thinking and usually get stuff the wrong way

I wrote her in a letter about What about us and what it meant to me and how I understood it before all promo stuff started for it. Then later in all interviews she said that one of her friends understood it in a different way than it was meant (that same way I said it). So I wouldnāt trust me on any of this, if I were you I love that thereās room for our own interpretations with everything she does š OK I mean I know what What about us was about, but for me, at that moment, I found comfort in those words and they helped me at that time so why not š

Ok so I've listened to the album probably a dozen times so I think i know how I feel about it now.
Hustle - 8/10 - This is just a fun song. It's a classic Pink "Fuck you" type of song. The base line is dope, as is Dan's whoop whoop. I love the melody and her voice in the chorus with the "I live my life like a bullet in a gun" part. I like that it has more upbeat feel than most "fuck you" songs.
(Hey Why) I Miss You Sometimes - 10/10 - I did not expect something like this but I fucking love it. It definitely shows how Pink continues to be able to evolve and adapt musically. I love how it goes from really auto tuned and produced in some parts, to acoustic in the chorus, and somehow it fucking works. It's funny too. "Waking up in Florida kind of love, McDonalds kind of love" Walk Me Home - 8/10 - Honestly is forgettable compared to the rest of the album. I still enjoy it. It's a good song, but the rest of the album is just better.
My Attic - 7/10 - Of all the songs on the album, this is the one I'm most likely to skip. There's nothing wrong with it, I just don't think I relate to its lyrics and the melody/singing doesn't have anything spectacular.
90 Days - 10/10 - HOLY CRAP. I knew I would love it when I watched Wrabel's solo version on youtube, but this is everything I imagined it to be and more. Their voices go together so well. I love the references to Tracy Chapman's Fast Car, and Imogen Heap's Mmm Whatcha Say, because they are both timeless songs with the same sort of theme of a relationship being dead. I think the connections elevate the song in the same way books do when they reference each other. It's like winking at the audience. As much as I love the production, I hope to god we get to see a live version of this song.
Hurts 2B Human - 9/10 - The best of the songs they released before the album IMO. Itās so chill and relaxed. Khalid is incredible. It's very relatable. The lyric "Oh god it hurts to be human" is so real and you can feel the power and meaning behind it. My only criticism is the "me me me you you you" part is too repetitive for my taste.
Can We Pretend - 8/10 - Similar to Walk Me Home in that it doesn't stand out from the rest of the album. It is fun though. I could see myself singing and dancing to it at the end of a bad day.
Courage - 9/10 - I actually really like this one. I noticed in some of the other reviews people dismissed it as too repetitive and sounding too much like Sia. And yeah, it has the sound of a Sia song, but thatās not a bad thing. I personally like that. Lyrically and thematically itās awesome too. The chorus just sours, "Have I the courage to change?" and I can't not like it. The song also shows the introspective side of Pink that I love. Layering different vocals is one of my favorite musical things, and this song features that when she sings the "I'm walking uphill" part over the "Have I the courage to change?" part.
Happy 10/10 - Did I just mention how I love the introspective side of Pink? Yeah, cause I fucking do, like most of us here. It's so authentic, honest, all the reasons we love her. The melody is sweet, her voice is soothing. I love the chorus with the call and response thing to it. It's like dialogue between her and herself, all those inner thoughts running around in our heads. Just fantastic, really.
We Could Have It All - 9/10 - idk I just really enjoyed this song. I donāt really know how to describe the background music at the beginning and in the verses, but itās good. The chorus soars, but the backing vocals bring it back to the verses in a smooth way. Just really pleasant to listen to.
Love Me Anyways - 9/10 - It's just a beautiful love song. Pink sound great. Chris sounds great. The song sounds great. It's generating a lot of buzz too, so I wouldn't be surprised if ends up a single. The little parts where they harmonize are incredible.
Circle Game - 9/10 - The beginning is a bit slow for my taste, but boy do I love the chorus. It's some of my favorite vocals on the album, and has been getting stuck in my head. I like the theme of it too. Once the song gets going, its pulls you in.
The Last Song of Your Life - 10/10 - Leave it to Billy Mann to pull this gem out of Pink. I actually think this is written from the perspective of Billy. It's him talking to her. It's kind of funny that they ended up with a song about trying to write a song. It fells very authentic and honest though, what the song is asking for, so I guess whatever process they have, it fucking works. The song itself is so beautiful. She sings quite high in this, itās impressive. The vocals have a kind of distant, far off sound. It's very relaxing.
Overall: The songs they released early are some of the weaker songs IMO. I don't think Pink is picking the singles. I 'm guessing she loves all the songs that make it on the album, and just lets RCA pick what to release. RCA seems to be picking what they think is closest to the more classic Pink pop song, instead of the actual best songs of the album. Itās been a problem since True Love on TTAL, but I hope they release at least ONE of the songs I gave 10/10 as a single.
The album as a whole is undoubtedly one of her best. Itās got the authenticity, "I wear my heart on my sleeve" of Missundaztood, but also 20 years of experience and development. This is an album where I'm MAYBE skipping one or two songs, and it would be pretty painless, even enjoyable to not skip any. That's actually a first for me and Pink albums, and there's only a handful of other albums that fit that category for me as well.
I also like the overall theme and feel of the album. Yeah, some would called it disjointed, but honestly all of Pink's albums are like that. She dabbles in all sorts of genres and I personally prefer that eclecticism. I like that the album is overall pretty optimistic too. It does hurt to be human. Life sucks sometimes, but there's always something worth all the trouble and pain. I think that's a good message, and certainly not new for Pink, but I think it did a hell better job of conveying that than BT did or any other time she's tried to make that point. The album has a great feel to it, and that's hard to explain, but it matters a lot.

Just a thought...could The last song of your life be about Linda Perry?
[Verse 1] What is it you wait for? Tell me who you are Not what you've rehearsed, all the other parts
> I don't know if things ever returned to normal after their fall out years ago, so she could be asking her just to be real and honest to her again
[Verse 2] It is of no interest at all to me What you have or who you know Can you tell me just where you have been? And what you've learned from it all Tell me what you dance for How you've been a fool I don't want the headlines, I just want the truth
> this verse implies that it is about someone rich and famous (what you have, who you know and the part about the headlines) and maybe it could be about the time when they were writing M!ss together when she didn't care about her riches, but just wanted to be creative with her
[Chorus] It would be so good to see the real you again It's been a long time, my friend
> the same thing what I said about te first verse
[Verse 3] When you're authentic, you're incredible I like the view behind your eyes There was no one else who could break it down And cut right through to the heart I just wanna lie underneath this tree While you whisper secrets on a melody
> this could totally be about them writing M!ss together - she loved writing with her and they had an incredible connection, and I remember an interview where Pink said that Linda makes up the melodies and she just starts singing

But I doubt really. I seriously think itās about how hard it is finding a beautiful rare friendship in general these days, because everyoneās trying to show off and trying to be so perfect. I donāt know though.

Hustle - 6/10 Nice opening track with a fresh funky conutry vibe, the chorus is a bit too repetitive tho.
Hey Why (Miss You Sometimes) - 9/10 Usually I'm against autotune, but she used it so tastefully in this one. Max Martin and Shellback are no doubt hitmaker legends, the beat is crazy catchy.
Walk Me Home - 7/10 The light before the dark (trinity), it would be nice to be an album track, but definitely not a single material.
My Attic - 8/10 The dark twin of Barbies. She sang it with a soft vocal which makes the song more vulnerable.
90 Days - 11/10 HOLY FUCKING SWEET JESUS! This is not just the album highlight but also her career highlight. Her vocal is perfectly matched with Wrabel's. And I just love the desperate mood of this song, it's like an upgraded version of Chaos & Piss.
Hurts 2B Human - 9/10 This is a collaboration I didn't know I need. Collaborating with new artists was something I would never wanted from P!nk, but Khalid did a really great job here.
Can We Pretend - 9/10 What About Us was the first song of hers to make you emotional with a dance beat. Then comes Can We Pretend which did the same job. It's the lyrics make this song so amazing.
Courage - 6/10 I know it's written by Sia, and it really screams Sia the whole song. P!nk's vocal is on point, the production is solid.
Happy - 9/10 It got the M!ss vibe in it, kinda like the sequel to Dear Dairy or Lonely Girl. It's a lyrically masterpiece.
We Could Have It All - 5/10 New Wave is pretty new to her, but that's all I can say. Not really feeling this one.
Love Me Anyway - 6/10 A diva kinda ballad. Not bad, but not good neither. It might be better if she did it solo imo.
Circle Game - 10/10 Another lyrically masterpiece. If you are a die hard fan, you knew what she's been through, this song will make you feel connected to her.
The Last Song of Your Life - 9/10 She and Billy Mann could do no wrong! This song is a conversation between her and the listener. After all the sadness she brought to you in this album, she offered you a salvation at the end.

Got my cds today. Read the booklet. She thanked the radio stations but not the fans? Or am I reading this the wrong way?

Her team has been really out-of-touch with what would be her best option as a single. I wish they would try to be just slighty more unsafe, I 100% believe it would help her numbers and the general public's view too. (Not releasing I Am Here as a single is still her worst move ever) But on the other hand, she usually peeforms her singles on tour so she should have a word in the process too.
