It's frustrating because P!nk is a superior artist and superior performer than Taylor Swift but Taylor's PR machine keeps creating the narrative that Taylor is the best artist in the world. I understand that Taylor paid for her PR machine and her money paid off as journalists keep writing articles about her, her lackluster music and her overrated tour whereas P!nk has said that she doesn't care about taking part in popularity contest at all, but this clearly shows how much the media is influenced by PR machine instead of actual artistic merits. To make it even clearer, P!nk, Taylor and Beyonce are all having stadium tours this year but Taylor and Beyonce get all the attention whereas P!nk's tour isn't talked about. My point is that there are many artists who are more talented than Taylor Swift: P!nk, Carly Rae Jepsen, Dagny... but they never get a fraction of recognition like Taylor does because they do not have, and in P!nk's case, doesn't want a PR machine to make them seem more talented than they are. Trustfall (album) is better than Taylor's Midnights. It's not even close. And the fact that Trustfall received ZERO Grammy nomination is an injustice. I said it.

I totally agree with what you just said. Everytime I see Taylor Swift on tv or hear her on the radio I can't believe that somebody like her is so much bigger than P!nk.
But it also makes P!nk feel a bit more special, so that's a good thing.
I don't even like it that much that she's become such a big touring act. I understand many people want to see her, but I liked it better when she was not this huge.
So let Taylor Swift get all the attention. We know who's the better artist.

Music is subjective and it’s just a fact that Taylor’s music appeals to a wider and younger fan base. I went to the eras tour because my wife is a fan and honestly, I thought it was awesome. The stage design, sets, and special effects were far superior to any of P!nk’s tours. I obviously prefer P!nk’s music to Taylor’s, hence why I’ve been a fan for 23 years now, but Pink’s lyrical skills have definitely gone downhill with the last few albums. As much as I hate to admit it, currently, I think Taylor is a better lyricist and is good at reinventing her sound. I really don’t think it’s a contest - Pink is in a different stage of her career and doesn’t really appeal to a younger crowd, minus the children who go to the shows with their pink fan parents. She has a very successful career and has always been an underdog, and if she doesn’t mind that then neither should we.

Can i just ask, when/why did TS get so big all of a sudden?? Like, obviously shes been popular for years but on her last tour 'Reputation tour' where she missed scotland, there was nothing about demand being so high and I didnt hear about people struggling to get tickets [im presuming she sold out]. and then it felt like all of a sudden for this tour, her tickets are like willy wonka's golden ticket and everyone had to register and it was a massive news story on TV. But I dont understand whats happened between 2018 and now thats made her so massive
Has demand for gigs rose since covid?? Because back to pink, ive seen her 5 times and never had any issues getting tickets for her so wasnt worried, and i cant get tickets for her as wheelchair spaces on both nights at hampden park have completely sold out, and my dad was online dead on 10am on both presale and general sale days and both nights sold out in minutes. I can get ONE disabled ticket which is no use as im in a wheelchair and need a carer ticket. i'm still gobsmacked as ive never had any issues getting her. and now i think about it since covid, so, tried Beyonce this year for Hampden couldnt get them, seen her twice before and had no issues. Last year Shania Twain announced 2 dates at the hydro in Glasgow and couldnt get them, luckily she added a 3rd date and I got them so saw her for first time this year [shes amazing btw, up there with pink as best gigs ive been to]. My pal couldnt get Lewis Calpaldi tickets. I also read online people were struggling getting Girls Aloud tickets and i went on to cheer myself up after not getting pink tickets and wheelchair space for BOTH nights sold out, and i know GA were popular but i didnt think 2 nights at the hydro would completely sell out. maybe its just me but i feel like since covid its 10x harder getting concert tickets. Because before covid, 9/10 i got tickets no problem and like i said, never had an issue ever getting pink tickets. Although i will say, the one that did hurt was Cher did one night at the hydro in 2019 and couldnt get them and i cried, shes one of my idols and ultimate dream person to see live

I don't like how sucesful she is compared to other artists like P!NK who I think deserve more than what they're given. But it is very clear to see the appeal. Her lyrics are a lot more advanced than P!nk's, ESPECIALLY in her more recent works. She also treats her fans very well. She drops extra songs somewhat routinely, gives vault tracks, gives them clues about things. P!nk does nothing of the sort and her marketing team is not helping either. The Eras Tour is undoubtly amazing; the large stage helps make it feel more intimate. She does two surprise songs nightly. It's very long and encompasses a LOT of her discography. P!nk has given us the same tour for ten years. I can understand why some here may be annoyed that P!nk is so overshadowed -- I hate it too. But calling Taylor Swift anything but a talented individual who makes subjectively advanced music is a bit unrealistic. The only thing Taylor truly does not have that P!nk does is a voice; Alecia's is FAR better and evokes more emotion. But I think that if you like most of P!nk's music, you could definitely find some Taylor songs to like.

I agree with your every word too. We all know P!nk is the better artist. Just let Taylor get all the attention that she craves due to her huge PR machine.

Taylor does TWO at each show and does not repeat. She learns one on piano and one on guitar for EACH SHOW. P!nk has her pianist do it and there have been songs repeated over 5 times. There is rarely a new one now. Yes, P!nk is 100% overshadowed. But you are acting as if Taylor does absolutely nothing to deserve anything, when in fact she does a lot of things which we would LOVE for P!nk to do.

It hadn't occurred to me but I agree that PR has a lot to do with it.
I'm sure that making mention of how successful her ticket sales have been was part of the strategy for her appearance on the US edition of 60 Minutes this year.
After all, it's quite unusual for an artist to sit for a prime time interview during the middle of a tour.
Personally, when it comes to P!nk's PR, I would really love to see less about her kids...
That's been done to death and kids in general are annoying enough as it is, lol.

It probably sent fans in other parts of the world into anticipatory anxiety at the fear of missing out, etc. Anyway, I blame Kanye for it all.

Taylor had already had the best-selling album of the year in the USA before Kanye grabbed her mic at 2009 VMA. Taylor didn't become a household name in Europe until last year when her album went #1 across Europe. Kanye did help her get talked on the media a few weeks after the VMA incidence but commercially Taylor became big because of PR, not because of Kanye.

Did everyone already forget the 60 Minutes piece? Just do a Google news search for P!nk and you see loads of news stories about her new tour dates. Probably compatible to the Beyonce publicly. Yes, it's not on hyperdrive like the Taylor Swift machine is but we are seeing something remarkable with her and I can't knock it. Hell, she may even impact the next election.
I just don't get why so many want her to compete with other artists.
