You can be smart with PR, without seeming like a sellout. There are many great examples out there. P!nk deserves the amount of commercial success that Taylor Swift is having. I said it and will not change my mind.

LOL P!nk’s PR is shit They have some kind of PR plan / release plan that always turns out into a WTF I donno how they manage to always fuck things up! And then there’s that. Album is out. Finito. Nobody gives a shit about doing more than what’s “needed”. Trustfall (song) is better than every Taylor Swift's song yet Taylor's songs keep topping Billboard Hot 100 chart. It's all because Taylor has better PR. Again, in terms of quality, P!nk is the better artist, even though TS is nice too, she is just not on P!nk's level.

Doesn't mean we all agree that she is the best in everything. She's clearly not. I definitely think she has the potential, but she's not using it.

There have been countless times when I've heard a song and wished P!nk had sung it instead, as I didn't like the original artist. Then P!nk went on to work with the same people, and I expected incredible things, but it fell flat for me. I have to conclude that she is partly to blame for that now. Or maybe it's just unlucky, I don't know. Her team in general, lacks in many, MANY ways, marketing being a massive one, but she DOES have involvement and impact at this stage. She can look around and take inspiration from people if she wants to, she could make cute merch, clever deluxe bonuses, fun promos, and more involvement with us, but it's not a priority. She has the power but is choosing not to use it. So... This whole "it's unfair" thing is silly to me. I don't like TS at all, but she works hard and strongly influences the direction and brand she is creating for herself. I respect that a lot and wish we had more of it. But we don't. That's no one else's fault.

Believe me, I used to think that about TS as well, and while I'm still not a fan of hers, there are some great gems in her catalogue esp. folklore. In terms of artistry, I'm sorry to say that P!nk has stagnated, maybe even regressed. TS has progressively changed it up over the years. P!nk, not so much. 20+ years into her career and she's doing songs like Never Gonna Dance... Trustfall while good is outdated. Don't get me started on "Dreaming". And TS gives everything to her fans - 10-minute All Too Well? We can't even get a 4-minute song out of P!nk these days. Whatever happened to bridges and lyricism - all her songs now are 2 verses, chorus, and repeat to fade. With the "vaults" TS gives old songs to her fans. What do we get for Trustfall Deluxe? Another recording of Cover Me in Sunshine. Like no one needs that on a Deluxe album. Also, TS constantly pumps out original, creative MVs -- P!nk doesn't even bother to film All Out of Fight, which is arguably one of her better songs in recent years. And don't forget TS puts on a 3-hour show for her fans. Of course it may not be as athletic or demanding as P!nk's, but the Summer Carnival tour is a complete rehash (Secrets for Turbulence, etc.) of her older shows. I'm not a TS fan in the least bit, but I feel she deserves her success, for everything that she gives to her fans. This. Although I disagree that NGNDA and TF are bad to do at this stage. NGNDA was exactly what we needed after Covid. I love her idea behind NGNDA (we don't try something because it's all in our heads that we're not good enough) but the execution/lyricism was poor. I also love the saxophone but just felt the whole song never lived up to its potential.

Someone’s a little obsessed with Taylor. lol And some people are clearly butthurt that Taylor is more successful. And no, it’s not Kanye or Ticketmaster (the site crashed because that MANY people wanted to see her live, another testimony to her success) fault (even though some of you are hanging on to that theory for dear life) lol Kanye definitely got her talked about the next morning and a while after that, but that doesn’t give you success. LOL Some of y’all would love to chalk it up to that, but she was already was opening with first week album sales ofmillion plus in the US, and debuting at #1. She was already becoming a huge success. If you really don’t know about someone’s career or trajectory, you really should keep mum, or educate yourself. We all know why P!nk isn’t talked about like Taylor or Beyoncé, and it’s not due to a poor PR team lmao. Because when something happens in P!nk’s world, like a twitter fight, ashes thrown on stage, inducting Dolly etc it gets talked about. They’re just not interested in her every move like us fans are. It’s not rocket science. Anyway, before Taylor, people were complaining about Madonna and then Britney. It’s now Taylor’s turn; she won’t be the last. Why are you so worried about P!nk’s success? lol P!nk’s not caring about yours. Sympathy made Taylor a super star. I can’t. Ariana was already huge, and Rihanna was also, so to say the abuse or bombing made them even more popular is absolutely ridiculous. No one even thinks about those things anymore (in years, in fact), and their stars haven’t faded. Yes, it got media attention, but that doesn’t sell albums, and concert tickets, or make you a streaming monster. You people really do grasp at straws.

Whether you like Taylor’s music or not, respecting her as an artist is a decent thing to do. She hasn't done anything on a personal level to deserve her achievements to be diminished. The vitriol is unnecessary. Maybe I would have agreed when I was 14, but come on, it's not cool. You don't need to put other people down to raise someone up.

I disagree, because any movement that Taylor, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Selena and many others make generates comments on various websites and sometimes even on TV. Every Beyoncé or Taylor release is an event, especially on social media. What happens is exactly the opposite with Pink. People aren't interested in what happens in Pink's life and her releases. And yes, talking about Pink does not generate engagement, likes and sharing. That's why it's often forgotten. And yes, getting media attention generates interest and thus generates sales. Are you going to tell me that you don't see what happens when Beyoncé releases an album, the same happens with Taylor and it was never in the same proportion for Pink. I ask you why Taylor had sales of more than 1 million albums in the first week in the United States and Pink never had that? Were your albums always all bad? Why was Pink never a big hit? I'm not saying that Taylor or Beyoncé don't deserve the success they have, because they are great. But Pink is a long way from reaching that level.

The GP obviously doesn’t have as much interested in P!nk as much as Beyoncé or Taylor. That’s just it. Plus, P!nk hasn’t done much that’s exciting since TTAL which was almost a decade ago, if I remember correctly.
Just because they receive that attention, doesn’t mean P!nk has to.
P!nk looks, acts, and is completely different than those artists, so why are we expecting the same thing!?
I’m sure if P!nk had long hair, acted fem, sang about love, and played the part like they do, things would be different. I don’t know, I’m just not up in arms about it. P!nk also doesn’t seem like the hungry artist as they do, working to make new waves, she just keeps rehashing. It is what it is. I’m a super fan and I’m bored AF.
Edit: P!nk’s fan base also doesn’t go to the lengths to help her succeed like Taylor and Beyoncé fans do. It just it what it is. And ifffff P!nk wanted that same attention, she’d try for it. But she’s just not that interested.

At P!nk shows most people don't actually know many songs other than the hits. At Taylor's shows, her fans are screaming every lyric. She's built a loyal fanbase that is huge and they help push her on social media. We don't have that.

Firstly, you come across as quite condescending and seem to like twisting people's words. I think the OP, while a little overzealous at times, raised a valid point re the machine behind Taylor, and I don't get why you're so touchy about it. When I said that I blame Kanye, I was being facetious. Next time, I'll be sure to add a little 'lol' after such a thing so as to not be misunderstood... Also, I stand by my statement that public sympathy towards an artist can have a hugely positive commercial effect at the time of 'it' occurring. I'm not suggesting that any of those artists' popularity was founded on it but it sure did catapult them into the public consciousness more. After all, a big part of marketing and PR is about affecting the public's emotions, and there is some publicity that money just cannot buy.

Well, Taylor has always been as big of a businesswoman as a musician, so no wonder she is calculated. She's playing the game really well.
Has she ever talked about our girl? I can't recall, even when she tweeted that Kanye tweet.
