Well, it's times like these we need to start being grateful for things we take for granted.
We still haven't closed the schools yet (well schools are free to make the choice themselves but the government did not decide on it, yet) and I think it's a good thing, especially to be able to keep the hospitals running (cause then mamas and papas would need to stay home to take care of their kids and we need em hospital and police people, etc).
Our boss forced everyone to work from home one day until Wednesday just to try it out that everything works from home and that we still can work and access everything in case of it all getting closed.
I swear to god Trump is behind all of this.

So we as teachers will be at school to take care of those whose can't stay home but all lessons are cancelled. But we live in crazy times. Police need to be at supermarkets because people are fighting for food. 🤯

Trumpism at work also, we have sick people here, who are showing all the symptoms, who can't even get tested. they are being ignored. My friend owns a coffee shop (which is now closed) and one of his employees is very sick and showing all the symptoms and had traveled. they won't test her... so take that, and then figure all the more people like that that are still infecting others. the current numbers are not accurate.... 😡

They need to stay home if they are not in the risk groups, because hospitals are not enough as it is now and need to prioritzing the risk groups. For her, unless she's one of them, it's like any other flu.

Also, it's not about the numbers anymore. It's a pandemic and count on us all getting it. The focus need to be spreading awareness and information to save the people in risk groups.

For her, unless she's one of them, it's like any other flu. I agree with you, but numbers ARE important in a sense, many people all over the US are saying things like "There's only 2 cases in my town, so why do we have to worry. Its less than the flu. blah blah blah". Numbers are important to getting people to play along, because right now many many places are not taking it seriously. The whole world needs to be on the same page. numbers are important for charting and planning. and being able to say "look here we are, but we will be x times worse if we don't take action" I dunno. I just don't see this working if not everybody can work together, and people right now, at least in the USA are not thinking as a whole. Businesses are trying to find alternate ways to stay open, which is putting more at risk. they are people who show no symptoms that may also be infected, people that will be fine, but could be infecting others, and letting the virus spread exponentially. there are businesses requiring staff members to still work, employees who could be sick and not know it. so here we have this girl, who may have been in contact with however many people who have been in contact with other people. and we have this girl, who can't get tested... There should be a way to test more people, its kinda shocking. and like the initial post from DrNick, international flights and check ins with zero testing. its so mismanaged right now. I am happy though that the tribal Indian casinos around here are deciding to close, because technically they don't have to follow state laws and could stay open if they wanted.
