Watched it a couple times now, Try was definitely the best part. I do wish she would have done something from every album to showcase her growth over the years.

Well, the whole thing was to celebrate her career, so in fact it's not to promote a new song. The fact that she did it that way was sweet, I liked it. She's not really promoting the album either, she didn't mention it. She only mentioned the upcoming tour, which there are still tickets for. This was the purpose of the performance, plus the fact that she hasn't done proper high profile UK promo in a loooong time. Oh, make no mistake... The Brit award and performance was absolutely orchestrated (and beautifully so) by her management for the upcoming release of H2BH, even if it wasn't explicitly mentioned. Similarly, her paid-for Walk Of Fame star was a warm-up to the new single, and her Grammys-produced Dolly tribute was to stay on the good side of the Grammy voters in the lead-up to the awards ceremony (not that it made a difference in the end, sadly - I've Ariana fatigue on a Grande-scale lately). Certainly, as a by-product the general public are reminded of her talent and her past accomplishments by way of these appearances, but these are all devices/tactics to stir up excitement for tangible commercial gain (i.e. new album sales/tour sales). And I just love observing and studying it all. #marketer

I heard she hired them to do her choreo for Try.

yes, me too. But these persons probably can only do this kind of performance. Pink tries so many different things. After the AMAS, I saw a video from Bandaloop (I think it was the name of the group), and it looked pretty similar to what Pink did that night, on the side of the building. Also, a lot of her performances have similarities with Cirque du soleil. The first time I saw Pink doing aerials, I was thinking "hey, le Cirque du Soleil did that before", and now, when I see "Cirque du Soleil" I'm like "hey, it's like Pink!" She can do all of that, while singing her own fucking songs. That is incredible!

And maybe she worked with Freckled sky for the Brits (did she mentioned it?). And some of her collaborators are from Cirque du Soleil. I didn't want to say that she copied their performance, but that she likes to be surrounded by the best persons.

You guys don’t have to defend her. There’s nothing wrong with this, it just made me sad because I really thought it was an original idea, but it wasn’t and no where did she mention them. Not even in her Instagram when she uploaded the picture. Whatever. Doesn’t change the fact that her try performance was amazing.

What I think was wrong was Bastille cancelling on his fans and a gig in Bucharest for this.
Edit; or it was some other city on B. I donno, I read it from a few upsetting fans.

Not even in her Instagram when she uploaded the picture. Whatever. Doesn’t change the fact that her try performance was amazing. She always "copied"/"was inspired by" other people's work. I mean, she didn't invent the characters for her U+Ur Hand video, the Blow Me single cover is a ripoff of a movie poster from a famous European movie series of the 70s, or her cirque du soleil routines. But she always credits the people she's worked with and the special thing about her reimagination of the acrobatic stuff is that she actually sings live while doing them. I heard somewhere that the people of the Try performance were there at the Brits and that they insta'ed her performance. What I'd find sad is if she didn't credit them somewhere. But that's not her. I can remember people being up in arms when she released U+Ur Hand but then everyone getting quiet after they watched the Making of and she mentioned the artist and how she was inspired by his work. Not defending her, but I can understand how it leaves a bitter taste to see her just copy another one's performance when you thought she thought it up herself.

What bugs me is that I believed it was hers, most of us did, and then she's getting so much admiration and compliments for something someone else spent a gazillion hours to make, that's what makes me a little bit 'eeeh....', nothing else. Copy someone all you want, use them as inspiration, but god damnit.... this is literally copy paste and nowhere credited. Even if they were there, admiring seeing their own work reaching WW, or whatever, I still think it's wrong to not credit. Yah, I donno. I mean, maybe they themselves didn't want the world to know.

I mean... i.pinimg.com/originals/39/ae/2b/39ae2bce1efdb89de3bfce7d6df64e0c.jpgI hope she will give the Try people a shoutout soon.

And what about her cover of Time after Time. It sounds so much like Eva Cassidy. It's like a cover of a cover. I was disappointed when I discovered that because I thought she reimagined by herself the song.(Maybe she ever credited her or talked about it, I don't know).
