No, not really a guess. but it’s good for the month of October. also lots of movies I put in the horror genre aren’t really horror anyway. like I lump a lot of SciFi into Horror, and Thrillers and even some Dramas.... I dunno 🤷🏻♀️ Also, lots of stuff that could be considered Horror ends up being comedy anyway. 🤷🏻♀️ Like Freddy & Chucky & Killer Klowns. True Horror is kinda rare in my opinion. 😐 But that's kind of a reason why I love the genre. You can mix it with so many other genres! Yah. I agree, but it also creates some lines where people ask “well, is that really horror”, like w/ Henry. I mean.... I still if I were organizing films, it’d still have that as one of its genres. Or like The Fly, it’s kinda weird sci-fi suspense, but it’s also sorta horror.... Oh, BrundleFly... ❤️

Oh, BrundleFly... ❤️ Anything that makes you fearful is horror in my eyes! Sometimes that can be more about the psychological torment than the obvious gore. I saw Hereditary a few weeks ago. Maybe I’m a total weirdo, but I laughed multiple times. Anything sudden or random just sends me. 🙈🤣

I just purchased this online, it should be here in a week or so.... anybody seen it? it came out in 1980, and I guess was originally titled “You Better Watch Out”, and was banned in the UK for a period of time. Fiona Apples dad, Brandon Maggart, is the main character in the movie. A guy that goes kinda crazy and ends up believing he’s Santa and then killing some peoples on Christmas Eve..... i haven’t read the whole thing, just a super vague synopsis, but either way so wanna see it just cause it has Fiona’s daddy.... im sure it’s not great or anything.

Something one finds utterly funny the next finds utterly terrifying because they may have went through some trauma regarding it. There's of course so many other aspects that factor in. So many of my friends found The Others to be not a horror movie, but I think it's one of the finest horror films out there. Also, in regards to The Fly, I heard it being considered as Body horror.

I agree with both of you 100%, just so many people seem to think that horror movies have to be slasher films, and that’s not true at all

Maybe we could do a Halloween Week challenge?
7 horror movies, from Oct 25 till Halloween. 5 rewatches, 2 not seen before horror movies (be it old or new) and rating them here from 0/10 - 10/10 with a little comment?
What horror movies would you choose?
10/25 --
10/26 --
10/27 --
10/28 --
10/29 --
10/30 --
🎃 --
(EDIT: thinking about a list this short makes me think I should have come up with an October challenge last month to prepare 31 movies 😡)

What movies would you choose?

So, grenno.... do we each make our own list of 13? Or so we all contribute to the same list? How do I participate?

So, grenno.... do we each make our own list of 13? Or so we all contribute to the same list? How do I participate? I was thinking of everyone making their own list. And if they want they can rate the movie they've watched on a scale from 1 (bad) to 10 (great), with a little comment or review on the movie

Okay, soooooo, I'll be watching the following... and whittling down to only thirteen movies was AWFUL! I only picked 3 never-seen-befores and for the rewatches the movies I love but haven't watched in a while. 10/19 -- The Girl Who Knew Too Much 10/20 -- New one: It Comes at Night 10/21 -- Cat People 10/22 -- The Gift 10/23 -- New one: Don't Breathe 10/24 -- Catacombs (it has become somewhat of a Halloween staple for me. Maybe because it premiered on Halloween back in the day on that website) 10/25 -- Black Sabbath 10/26 -- Deathdream aka Dead of Night 10/27 -- In the Mouth of Madness 10/28 -- Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things 10/29 -- New one: Hereditary 10/30 -- Blair Witch Project 🎃 -- Halloween (duhdoy)
