This will more than likely flop on here, but I'll just take my chances Got any love for the horror genre? Show it Are there spooky books you enjoy and would like to recommend?
Any scary stories that make your skin crawl that you'd like to share?
Something eerie that you may have encountered?
Art you love?
Scores and tunes that chill you to the bone?
Movies that you love to rewatch or movies you are looking forward to enjoy for the first time?

Excited for the Suspiria remake:
I looove the Dario Argento original and am not much into remakes, but this looks good!
It doesn't have the amazing colorfulness that the original had but still the same weird vibe. And that beautiful and haunting score is gorgeous.

Hm, have to check out that, I'm always a bit sceptical regarding remakes ... but speaking of remakes, despite the fact that Tom Savini couldn't realize it the way he wanted, I really like his Night of the Living Dead remake, Patricia Tallman is fucking awesome in it ... and so fucking pretty with short hair.

... and while we're at Zombie movies, one of my favourites is Day of the Dead, despite the limited location it has some amazing FX by, yes, Tom Savini

As a kid, my brother and I... and actually my sister too. Would always buy shitty used horror VHS tapes at the video store (sometimes we’d rent ‘em too).... We’d get whatever for like $5 and then watch it over and over. Loved all of it. The Omen, Creepshow, Dead Alive, A Nightmare on Elm Street (number 3 was my fav) Friday the 13th Halloween Etc Etc Etc
I’ve really fallen out of it, in general, but I still will mark out at a good chunk of it. One of the Indy theaters out her did the original PHANTASM last year for one day only and I made sure to bring my nephew (he acts so much like we did as kids)
:]

drnick Tom Savini is legendary! I heard that he wanted to remake Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things a few years ago, which I actually was totally against. CSPWDT is one of my veeery favorite horror movies since forever. That last scene freaked me out when I was little. Loved it It's such a strange great little (and my favorite) zombie flick that oozes atmosphere. But I would have liked how he would have handled the special effects and masks and everything tho.

We would do that too when we were little. Also, my babysitter was the COOLEST! She brought The Evil Dead 1+2 and Silence of the Lambs one night to watch with us When I was older, I used to work in a video store (the stories I could tell lol), so my friend and I would keep up that old tradition of watching great and crappy horror movies lol great times!

My sister is so cool as a mom. She knows that as a kid part of the wonder of watching horror movies as a kid is that you aren’t supposed to be watching em..... My nephew asked me if he could watch some of the elm street movies with me and my sister told him “no, I don’t want you watching them” and then she told me “watch them with him”..... that way I get to be the cool uncle and he gets to feel like he’s getting away with something, adding to the effect of watching.

I think that thrill is something I love to think back on. And I just love watching horror movies with cousins and friends who are younger than me and then watching them getting scared and more scared To all: What was the first horror movie you remember watching?

Oh yeah, he is. Also as "actor" e.g. in 1980s Maniac:

... and of course as Sex Machine in From Dusk Till Dawn
Why do they have the music from Aliens in that trailer though?

Depends on what qualifies as horror movie ... when my dad got our first VHS machine, he brought stuff like Jaws and The Omen movies right with it. Then I got stuff like Halloween, Halloween II and The Evil Dead myself, kinda odd that The Evil Dead was banned decades here, and now it got a 16 certificate, while Halloween II is still banned. Just nuts.

Uh... Jaws, The Omen? Yeah, they qualify as horror movies easily I think my very first one was Roman Polanski's Dance of the Vampires aka The Fearless Vampire Killers. The images of Prof Abronsius and Alfred freezing in the carriage (which was more funny) and Sharon Tate's abduction from the bathtub kinda stuck with me. Also the Drop of Water segment from Black Sabbath... the dead medium's face still haunts me to this day!! That segment of the movie can still creep me out. It's so good. I think it's no wonder Mario Bava became my favorite director. He understood how to create chillingly beautiful atmosphere. <3

Texas Chainsaw Massacre 😦 and Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 😆 Haha right on! 😁 I was like probably 8 or 9 years old when I watched Silence of the Lambs and ED 1+2... and with the latter, I have no clue how my babysitter got her hands on those VHS cassettes since, like drnick already said, The Evil Dead was banned in Germany at the time :/
