Id love for that to be the case, but I’m not holding my breath.

Id love for that to be the case, but I’m not holding my breath. I have a feeling Kelly Clarkson will win because, for whatever reason, Kelly has always been a Grammy darling whereas Alecia isn't. A nomination for Alecia is still great though.

For whatever reason? Geesh. We know Kelly is probably the best vocalist alive right now in the pop game.
Btw, Kelly’s new album is fantastic. I haven’t listened to Trustfall in full since release week. And that’s absolutely rare for me.

It's a good album, but compared to her older stuff, much of it is just mid.

Guys, Pink will hardly win more awards, (whether by popular vote like VMA's) or by a bench like Grammy. Well, she hasn't been on the rise for a while. Her best eras where she really had a chance were with M!ssundaztood and The Thuth About Love. She'll even be nominated at the VMAs and maybe be nominated for a Grammy for best pop album or/and pop vocal performance, but she's unlikely to win. And that goes for Aria Awards, Brit Awards and EMAs too. AMAs she never won and I think it's almost impossible for her to win now. Of course, that could change if she gets a huge worldwide hit close to or bigger than JGMAR.

Until she gets back in the artist’s seat music wise (like miss try this, Ind, funhouse), she ain’t winning Grammys. When she decides to stop feeding us Pop and releases a gospel or rock album, that’s when people will really see her talent, and she’ll be nominated.

No-one could ever argue that Kelly doesn't have an incredible voice, but then so do Jennifer Hudson and Adam Lambert? The harsh fact is that Kelly, while very likeable and very successful, is considered more pedestrian, more karaoke, and less of an 'artist' than P!nk.

Adam and Jennifer also have great voices, but why are you bringing them up? Did I miss a conversation about American Idol contestants? They have nothing to do with the conversation. Jesus. Yes, our dear P!nk is an artist. We all know this. I was responding to someone’s comment about how for whatever reason Kelly is a Grammy darling. And it’s really not some unknown reason. And her new album is actually really good, if you ask me. Id say she’s an artist. She may not dance, model, hang from stuff like P!nk but she’s definitely a lyrical and vocal artist. Why do we have to compare? Or diminish?

Trustfall (album) for Best Pop Vocal Album Trustfall (song) for Best Dance Recording Would be great, even if it's just so she can attend and perform, but I kinda doubt it.

Why do we have to compare? Or diminish? I'm sorry if it seems like I'm picking on you but I'm really not, and there's no need to get defensive. I'm just here to read opinions and share opinions. I used those examples because you cited Kelly's vocals, and I don't think a great voice alone always makes a Grammys darling, or a great artist. And why wouldn't we compare artists? Isn't that what Grammys voters do per award category?

I'm glad this album (and by extension H2BH) is doing nothing for her/already forgotten by the public; she needs to make better music. I hate that her songs have become so short - probably because of the streaming era - they don't go anywhere. Remember I'm Not Dead's epic guitar solo? Lyrically it's 2 short verses then the chorus on repeat. It's so lazy. And there's no lyricism. For someone who's so influenced by music and the greats, her output is quite lackluster.
She's not going to get played on the radio anymore, but she can still sell tickets, so it's about time she gave us a great album.

Agreed that she needs to pull her album socks up and allow herself to venture into less comfortable musical spaces. You mean US radio, yeh, because I'm pretty sure she still gets decent airplay for her newer songs in EU, CA, AU and NZ? By the way, can anyone tell me how much of an effect radio has on charts in the US these days anyway?

Yeah, it's really strange to me that someone who loves Queen, Janis Joplin, Led Zeppelin is coming out with songs like NGNDA, at this stage of her career. The idea for the song is actually great (all the mind games we play with ourselves), but it is so cheesy. This album had such great potential - First Aid Kit, Lumineers (though I'm one of the few who love LWTG), but the songs are written so lazily. Sorry guys to be such a Debbie Downer. I'm of the opinion if she releases a gem, she will get played on the radio/streamed even if she's outside the age bracket. But she keeps bringing on the duds. Oh well.

I'm of the opinion if she releases a gem, she will get played on the radio/streamed even if she's outside the age bracket. But she keeps bringing on the duds. Oh well. It makes TOTAL sense she'd write a song like NGNDA. She said it herself, it is cheesy, but it's cheesy on purpose. It's just a feel-good song and I think it excels at it's purpose. I love NGNDA, the production is great, the vocals are great, the meaning is great. Not every song has to be super deep to be good, and I think NGNDA fulfills it's purpose super well. I agree that much of the album is lazily written. What is Runaway even referring to? What about Kids In Love? It's hard to decipher the meaning. And many of the bridges of the album are just repeated choruses or a single word/phrase over and over and over again. Although I LOVE Kids In Love due to it's overall vibe and rhythm. And LWTG is beautiful, but I feel the bridge should be longer. She really does need a new label and to come out with a totally new album. Her last three albums have been much of the same. We need something very different IMO.
