Now that I've had a chance to listen to the whole record a couple of times and let it marinate in my mind, here's my track by track review: - When I Get There – 7/10 – albeit an untraditional opener, it's a really good song – both lyrically and musically. and I really don't mind it's not "hers", I believe her when she sings it and understand why putting her own pain into words simply wasn't an option.
- TRUSTFALL – 8/10 – this has been the biggest turnaround for me. I REALLY disliked it when it first came out but it got better with every replay. I know people have been comparing this to WAU, to me Trustfall is the lesser one.
- Turbulence – 4/10 – as someone who has anxiety, I thought I'd fall in love with this song but it sounds incredibly bland to me. Nothing happens and it goes nowhere.
- Long Way to Go – 8/10 – the arrangement is beautiful, I just wish it were longer. Oh and the bridge is very much a wtf moment.
- Kids in Love – 5/10 – this does nothing to me but at least some of the melodies are pleasant. But just like Turbulence – it's almost too simple.
- Never Gonna Not Dance Again – 8/10 – I loved it when it came out and I love it still – it helped me alleviate some of the pandemic fatigue and war weariness.
- Runaway – 8/10 – Is it simple? Yes. Do I want to start an aerobics class once the chorus kicks in? Absolutely. Even though you could say the beat is very generic, I enjoy it a lot.
- Last Call – 6/10 – The "ahs" irk me. I really like the melody, I can't vibe with the production. It's very mediocre.
- Hate Me – 7/10 – I have a love-hate relationship with this song, it's my guilty pleasure. It's so predictable with its oversimplified melodies and angsty lyrics but I tend to not care. The chorus is an ear-worm but I wish something more interesting happened musically, it sounds like it was made in Garage Band.
- Lost Cause – 8/10 – It doesn't reach the heights of 90 Days but I love what she's done to this song. I love the effect on the vocals.
- Feel Something – 6/10 – Am I the only one who always gets caught off guard at the very beginning when she starts singing and it sounds like she can't keep up with the rhythm or melody or something? The chorus is great tho.
- Our Song – 9/10 – YES, this is what I've signed up for! So it makes me sad...
- Just Say I'm Sorry – 3/10 – ... that we have to end this album on such a disappointing note. I understand she's a big fan of his but just like her previous collab with him, it does NOTHING to me.
I think it actually is a good album that she can be proud of. It doesn't reach the heights of M!ss or even Beautiful Trauma but it is a lot better than H2BH or CTMH. I'm going to repeat myself though – I WISH SHE WOULD TAKE MORE MUSICAL RISKS. The song Trustfall is a nice start, now let's get other interesting producers on the line. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk. i literally think the same as you on most points. Would maybe rank Hate Me even a bit lower and Feel Something a bit higher. So i think there is no need for me to do a song-by-song review now

So is it established that Our Song is the song getting the most love overall on this album? 😍

Thats for last week. It hasn’t been out for a week yet, so we’ll have this update once the charts are updated. It’s aiming for #2, if only we could get those extra 20k to beat SZA.

I don't think that's a fair point. The Alecia that gave us Kids In Love is the same Alecia who gave us Crystal Ball, The One That Got Away, When We're Through, Love Song, all of that. I was hoping though, with US politics, for this to be an angry album. Hopefully the 2024 election is ruthless and she's fired up then. irrelevant gave us that, and I loved it. Irrelevant <3 To be honest I'm happy it's not an angry album. This is exactly what a mad and angry world needs right now. Isn’t even this album a little bit angrier than H2BH? That’s the way I feel, anyway. I don’t know if we will ever see a full on angry P!nk album again.

The artist that performed River so ferociously on stage, the one who covered Smells Like Teen Spirit, the one who made Bohemian Rhapsody her bitch… is the same artist that recorded Kids In Love. Like… what? And more importantly, who for? I don't think that's a fair point. The Alecia that gave us Kids In Love is the same Alecia who gave us Crystal Ball, The One That Got Away, When We're Through, Love Song, all of that. I’m so tired of ruthless.

Not that it matters, but I’ve decided Hate Me is my favorite. It sounds like it belongs on TTAL which was the album that made me realize I had been missing something special. I fucking hate myself that I did that. I don’t have time or care to analyze the entire album, but I like it more than her last one.

I'm going to repeat myself though – I WISH SHE WOULD TAKE MORE MUSICAL RISKS. I don't agree with all of your ratings (and that's totally fine), but this part I wholeheartedly agree with. I've been listening to the other albums in full just to try and place Trustfall on the scale here; it's a good album, but it's definitely not her best. For me it's always going to be IND and FH bc I'm emotionally attached to them, but also M!ss and TT bc they're such a great part of her evolution. TTAL and BT are fantastic imo too, I like the majority of the songs on there and there are some of her best tracks on those two albums. H2BH I have a love-hate relationship with bc what I love, I LOVE and what I hate, I HATE. The vibe really starts to shift here. The difference is not only in the music but in the lyrics, the attitude, the themes. TF is an enjoyable album with some gems. I don't hate anything, which makes it an improvement from H2BH technically, but listening back to the older albums is really making me realize how much her sound has fundamentally changed.

The thing is, and i knew this was coming tbh, P!nk isnt in her 20s anymore shes a 42 year old mother, and her music has matured because shes older now. shes not gunna do another There You Go, Stupid Girls, So What etc now because it wouldnt make sense now shes 42. i did dread this coming tbh as thats what made me love her, her F U, attitude songs. But i understand why she isnt anymore [except Hate Me is like her old stuff] because it wouldnt make sense now shes 42, a mother and has grown up. its sad coz i miss that but i understand why

I'll do a full review, why not. Just my two cents.
1. When I Get There (8/10): Beautiful ballad with lyrics that really hit hard. I have nothing to complain about, but it isn't an extraordinary ballad.
2. Trustfall (10/10): Great lyrics that are meaningful. Great sound that we don't usually hear from her. Great beat and just an overall bop. It also sounds great acoustic. I'd say it's my second favorite title track behind I'm Not Dead. (Most played from the album for me)
3. Turbulence (8/10): Love the lyrics, I think some of them are really clever. I really enjoy the bass (I think it's bass) driving the song. I enjoy the production and the vocals too. Only downside is that when I first heard the bass I was expecting it to really take off and it never did. But other than that it's one of my favorite tracks from the new album and is really good, if I wasn't expecting it to take off it would be a 9/10. (2nd most played from the album)
4. Long Way to Go (7/10): Great vocals, their voices go really well together. Lyrics are nice and the verses and chorus are catchy. I enjoy the buildup, and although I wouldn't mind if it built up more I think it's still appropriate. Sucks that we didn't get the longer version, I think it would've elevated the song closer to a 8 or 9 if it had.
5. Kids in Love (9/10): This song has been getting hate on here but I love it. The song is totally calming. I love the subtle guitar and the vocals. The chorus is really addictive. The duet sounds so good too. It's giving you and me vibes and I really like it, it's just such a perfect song for a calm time. Although since it's only 2:47 it goes by really quick which is a downside for me. But really great song (4th most played from the album).
6. Never Gonna Not Dance Again (8/10): At first, I was disappointed. This is not what I wanted from her in terms of sound or lyrics. However, after hearing her explanation of it and the rest of the album, I totally get it. It's a really fun and enjoyable song. It's catchy, the vocals are great, I absolutely love the trumpets in the background. I also really like the ending (I feel like she was inspired by the live version of I Am Here for the ending). Obviously the lyrics aren't the best, and there's no real bridge. But I enjoy the song. Do wish it was the closing track though.
7. Runaway (6/10): Not feeling it. Lyrics are good, and the verses are fun, but the whole song just isn't vibing with me. It's just so generic pop. The vocals are pretty average too.
8. Last Call (9.5/10): Love this. The production is really enjoyable, the lyrics are really good, and the vocals are great too. It's also a great length. I absolutely love the bridge, it's just so perfect and amazing. The bartender line is hilarious. The vocals in the last chorus are great. Really all positives for me. I love Billy Mann!!!! (On tour, would love to see her just standing and singing while the dancers have a simple and gracious dance routine around her).
9. Hate Me (8/10): Really enjoy this song. It's a GREAT throwback to the pop-rock P!NK that I love. The verses are really well written in my opinion, and actually so is the chorus. It's such a bop, and I personally really enjoy the guitar in it. Biggest downside is that the bridge is just the chorus which is something I really hate and I'm disappointed that she's been doing it more these past few years. But other than that it's so fun. I think it deserved a guitar solo though.
10. Lost Cause (8/10): Really good ballad, I love the minimalist production here. The verses are very well written and funny, while also hitting hard. The chorus is just so good and I love the whole idea of being called a Lost Cause being the worst thing you could say. Vocals are great here, and I REALLY hope we get it live. Half a point removed for the voice filter (although truthfully I'm started to enjoy the filter) and another half for no real bridge.
11. Feel Something (7/10): There's nothing really wrong with the song, it just isn't that amazing IMO. I like her vocals here, and I do like the lyrics. The bridge is nice although after it I feel that the song ends too abruptly. Nothing wrong with the song, and I still think that it's a great song, just not as great as the others.
12. Our Song (8/10): Wow. The vocals here are great, I love that she let the rasp show. I also love the whole story of the song. I really wish she had an actual bridge though. But it's a great delivery with great emotion. I almost put this as 8/10, because after getting so many ballads at once it's hard to enjoy all of them, but it does deserve 9/10.
13. Just Say I'm Sorry (8/10): This song isn't for everyone, and I usually skip it because it's so slow, but it's a truly great song. The lyrics are really true for me and I love the emotion coming from it. I enjoy the different sound from her here, with the guitar being really enjoyable. I really like the held out notes, as it's something new from her. Their voices also go well together. Still no real bridge though.
Overall, it's a solid album. I've said this before, but I feel like if the two preceding studio albums weren't so midtempo we'd enjoy it a lot more. I don't know where to put it for me, and I still can't tell if it's better than BT and H2BH (which I think is one of her best albums). It's a solid album, although the standout songs are still inferior to many other songs she has from past albums. She also should have spaced out the ballads, as it effects your interpretation if you just heard two ballads and there's still two more to go.
One theme of the album that I really don't like is the lack of a good bridge. NGNDA, Hate Me, Lost Cause, and JSIS either lack a proper bridge at all or it's just the chorus. And Feel Something, Our Song, Trustfall, and Last Call's bridge are really just a few words repeated and repeated. Hopefully next album we get more proper bridges!

Wow I could have written 90% of this!! We are so like 😱!! The only changes I’d make is kids in love which I don’t hate at all but it’s not my vibe, so that would be a 6/10 for me, and JSIS I’d put at 7/10 but I agree with what you said, the rest is me all over!!

Hopefully next album we get more proper bridges! great review imo and totally true that NGNDA should be the last song!
