im sorry but what do you mean when you say you dont believe what she sings in WIGT?? Thats a bit disrespectful when its about her dad. are you saying you dont believe when she says she believes in the afterlife?? if so, its not really our right to say we dont believe her when she says she believes in the afterlife im not getting on at you, im just curious at what you mean by that because when i read that, if im honest i did think that was a bit uncalled for to say when the song is about losing her dad. all of the rest is your opinion and i respect that, its just that one bit i think is a bit unfair to say about pink Quite the reaction to a very clear comment. I used WIGT to deliver a point: they’re not her words, the delivery comes off to me as a little bit forced. It is something I feel, we are critiquing art, it’s ok to feel or not feel something from a piece that is designed to invoke a reaction from you.

All right, so my two cents are (as if anyone gives two shits lol): Is it her best record to date? No. It lacks the depth, gut-punch and special sauce soundscape of M!ss and doesn’t have near the raw energy that, for example, Try This provided. But can she be proud of it? Hell yes, definitely! It is still a solid and actually strong record. I think vocally she is on the right path here, getting hints of that unique volume and soul that I’ve personally been missing lately. We hear moments of smokiness and raspiness again in Last Call, the forcefulness of her mighty pipes in Our Song, her crisp R&B/soul inflections over a country instrumental on Just Say I’m Sorry. Balm to my damn ears! The album definitely grew on me over the past few days. There is not a song I outright hate – but also no song I absolutely fell head over heels with. Long Way to Go, while I thoroughly enjoy this song, it also makes me mad at the same time. Reading the lyrics in the booklet and then hearing the actual song… is that only a radio edit we got on the album? This song could have been another Waiting for Love if they had really delved into the music and sound more and let her sing, sing, sing! (Linda? Where you at, girl?) Same problem I kinda have with Last Call’s instrumental. It’s overall cute but kinda meh. I wished Butch had been around to infuse it with a bit more punch to really drive the song home in both aspects, vocals AND music. On this album sometimes it just feels like she’s pumping the brakes too early or is not entirely letting go off them. The thing is, at the end of the day, I’m very much OK with how things turned out and the album grows on me steadily. I think I’m just coming around to the fact that the things I change in my mind while listening to the songs, I, well, can’t change them in reality. Like with Our Song: instead of just having a piano support her stellar vocals here, I’d’ve LOVED if they went full 80s/90s power ballad! In addition to the piano, throw in drums with heavy reverb, give it an e-guitar solo and bass with chanty background singers joining in on the nanananas. As a whole it is, while solid, all very middle ground territory – thankfully no crushing lows but no super high highs either. Which feels strange to say since, again, it really is a very good album – especially when listening to it all the way through. The musical production and lyrics, while for the most part good and really well produced, never dare to go there (wherever there is), but vocally IMO this is stellar! Also hoping she and Dua Lipa will perform Runaway together at next year’s Brit Awards… maybe mash it up with Physical and voilà! Hit! i agree woth most things you think, and you’re so right about Our Song, i said the same and i’m so glad i’m not the only one who “hears” that version

But the song isn’t about her dad…. It was written and given to her whilst he was still alive, she even said it’s about anyone who’s died. If she wrote, or even got given it after he died and it was more personal then I would be 100% into it, but I actually agree that it’s not that ‘personal’ Her Dad had cancer, and was dying. So when the song was given to her she said it felt like her words and claimed it as hers and recorded it. Whether it was given to her before or after his death, which she can’t remember as it was such a hard time, it wouldn’t matter, as she knew her father was going to pass before he did. The song is beautiful and the lyrics resonate to anyone who has lost someone and this is for her Dad. And I love it, and it is so moving how she sings it. I wanted to add that, per one of her many recent interviews, she mentioned that she played her version of WIGT to her father before he passed.

I really like all the songs on the album better than the ones released so far. Idk why NGNDA is on this album. But whatever.

First of all, hiiii guys, it's been a while. I haven't been around much but I've been lurking since album release as I wanted to see people's thoughts on the album. It's good to see so many familiar faces/names.❤️
I've listened to TF several times now, slept on it, *ruminated* on it (lol) and I think I have a pretty decent picture of how I feel about it, so here are my two cents if anyone cares (disclaimer: this is honestly a bit of an essay, but there's a TL; DR in the end, sorry for the wall of text😂):
Going into the first listen I was extremely skeptical, as I didn't really enjoy NGNDA (thought it was pretty generic tbh) nor TRUSTFALL (I didn't love the production, but I think it shines in the acoustic version, beautiful melody and lyrics, it has grown on me quite a bit). I lowered my expectations as a result and really enjoyed the full album the first time. After sleeping on it, my thoughts are (by song):
✨When I Get There - I think it's a beautiful tribute to her dad, although I sort of agree with hookedonspice that it's obvious the lyrics aren't hers and it sounds a bit... disingenuous maybe? She has better ballads and I'm not sure why this was released as a "hype song" for the album.
✨Trustfall - I prefer the acoustic version still, but the studio version has grown on me to the point where I don't skip it out of sheer annoyance lol.
✨Turbulence - LOVE, I sobbed uncontrollably the first time I heard it (and a few times after that tbh), probably the best lyrics in the sense that they feel 100% genuine and not too generic/basic. It's also stuck in my head so that's probably a good sign.
✨Long Way To Go - an enjoyable song, honestly the piano really reminds me of WAU, but WAU is obviously the superior song here. I love the lyric "I want to show you my scars in the daylight". Overall decent but I'd love more of a build-up and a bigger sound for at least one chorus.
✨Kids in Love - probably my least favorite collab. Again, a nice song, but I have definitely been skipping it. I think it has an okay melody and the harmonies are pleasant.
✨NGNDA - I wasn't really that into it at first and I still don't think it's that impressive tbh, but it is catchy, radio-friendly and whatnot. I get it but also kind of... meh?
✨Runaway - I get why people like this, it's very 80s, one of the few upbeat songs on the album, but also it's kind of boring to me? Repetitive, a relatively basic melody, it doesn't do much for me.
✨Last Call - I really enjoy Last Call, it has grown on me quite a bit and I appreciate the whole *chuckles, we're in danger* apocalyptic vibe of the lyrics. It made me laugh and the melody has crept into my brain.
✨Hate Me - I instantly loved it, so catchy, excellent lyrics, very reminiscent of IND, I find myself replaying it a lot, plus it feels like she really means those lyrics. Looks like it's getting lots of views/streams too, so I hope it's a single. And I think it would really work well with all the pro-lifers and anti-vaxxers hating on her lately lmao.
✨Lost Cause - this is probably the biggest grower for me, the lyrics are very Wrabel and I love them, 90 days is one of my fav songs and I can feel the same vibe. I enjoy it more and more with every listen, I love how it builds.
✨Feel Something - the lyrics are really beautiful, but it's so non-memorable for me and that makes me kind of sad. I've really tried to give it a fair shot, but for some reason I just can't fully get into it.
✨Our Song - ugh LOVE this so much. It reminds me of Elton John/Blue's Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word and Il Volo's Grande Amore (if we have any Eurovision fans here, let me know if I'm delusional😂). Instantly fell in love with this, such a strong ballad, her vocals are goosebump-inducing, the lyrics are beautiful, one of my absolute favorites.
✨Just Say I'm Sorry - I'm really surprised how many people dislike this song (and some even despise it). I'm not a country girl at all, in fact I avoid it like the plague, but this song is so pretty and calming to me. I close my eyes when I listen to it and I'm just immediately so chill.😂 I've read lots of comments saying it's boring, it doesn't go anywhere, etc. but I really have to disagree, it has this wonderful subtle build-up through harmonies and the variations in melody. Their voices together are magic, the lyrics are excellent, the melody is beautiful and the harmonies are delicious - what more could I wish for.😌
Overall there are a few different sounds on this album, but I do think that it flows nicely and it is cohesive when you listen to it from the beginning to the end. But I don't know if that's fully a compliment for Pink as an artist specifically. I love a good concept album (think Pink Floyd, Muse, Bad Omens, etc.), but I don't think the concept of a concept album (lol) works for Pink. I also gotta say that I expected at least one angry political song with the pandemic and the shitshow that is global politics, but I guess Hate Me is the closest thing to that. Would love a good DMP update for the current time.
TL; DR
I love Turbulence, Hate Me and Our Song. I really like Trustfall, Lost Cause, Last Call, Just Say I'm Sorry. I enjoy When I Get There, Long Way to Go. I tolerate NGNDA, Kids In Love, Runaway, Feel Something.

Hi!!! This forum is blowing up. So awesome to see Also, hookedonspice visual work is doing something to me! Absolutely love it and can't stop watching themmmm. Ha! Hypnotising... He should make her lyrics videos ehhhh NOW!!!! Speaking about lyrics, I still haven't had time to have a look at them... (imagine all the misheard lyrics that are stuck with me forever now huh lol?!?!!). I've heard the album a bunch of times, in different environments and moods and it takes SO MUCH time for me to have an honest opinion about each and every song. My first impression of the album was that it was good but not my favorite. Asking me now I'm not so sure anymore... maybe it is the best? No. Yes! Or? ... time will tell! However, hearing her sing new songs with that voice, is really God's gift to me lol. My favorite tracks are Last Call, Lost cause and Kids in Love... (I think I heard Lost cause live btw... I recognize it so much. The first time I heard it I knew it was Wrabel's... I mean who doesn't hear it!? Also, am I the only one that want a Wrabel + P!nk project ala Rose ave? Here for it any day! The rest of the songs on the album are great as well... some remind me of her old songs... or unreleased songs... or even parts of Queen's songs lol. I'm excited to hear whatever she picks to preform live. I'm here for cutting a bunch of "forever on the setlist songs" that we heard 144234232323 times for any from this album.

im sorry but what do you mean when you say you dont believe what she sings in WIGT?? I felt the same when I heard it the first time. I mean I hear that she sings it and I hear that she can relate to it, but it's also very very clear to me that those are not her words... she didn't write them. And I didn't even keep track of which ones she wrote and which ones she didn't. I hear you and I agree with you, and the opinion is no where near disrespectful to P!nk or her feelings or believes. I just think jonloch1 needs to reread once with different "glasses"

The artist that performed River so ferociously on stage, the one who covered Smells Like Teen Spirit, the one who made Bohemian Rhapsody her bitch… is the same artist that recorded Kids In Love. Like… what? And more importantly, who for? For her Swedish fans This shit will be a BOMB here!

Like… what? And more importantly, who for? I don't think that's a fair point. The Alecia that gave us Kids In Love is the same Alecia who gave us Crystal Ball, The One That Got Away, When We're Through, Love Song, all of that. I was hoping though, with US politics, for this to be an angry album. Hopefully the 2024 election is ruthless and she's fired up then. irrelevant gave us that, and I loved it. Irrelevant <3 To be honest I'm happy it's not an angry album. This is exactly what a mad and angry world needs right now.

I agree with all of this. Thank you for putting it so eloquently for us 🤣 Some people on here don’t seem to like honesty and would prefer that everyone agrees with everything she does and just fall in line. I said earlier that I prefer her music prior to having children. I’m not sure what exactly that means, but it’s certainly my persona marker on the situation. I was really hoping I’d LOVE TRUSTFALL and have that kinda OG P!nk back. But I guess this is her new normal. This three year wait, to me, didn’t result in a selective and cohesive, edited record. It comes across as schizophrenic…. confused. I know you replied to hookedonspice, but I feel like adding something to the last comment. After listening to the album the first few times all I could think of was how schizophrenic it was. I just couldn't understand how some of the songs were there, even if they are some of the coolest on the album. But then I thought when I read some reviews, that these songs I'm talking about are other people's absolute favorite songs on the album. She doesn't only sing to "gays between 35-40", or "moms between 30-35", or "married couples with issues" lol...she sings to all of us, and this is her way to get to each one of us, at once.
