This is the longest one I written so far (I'll probably edit it 100 times so it's better to come back tomorrow ). Read if you want or stop reading if it gets annoying What I wrote down here is no where near what I feel about this all, but I trieddddd.
Had it not been for the Dutchies in Zürich we would have not added this show most likely. I mean, fine, the thought did cross our minds earlier too, that I won't lie. But we woke up the day after the Zürich show and were pretty convinced, #yoln Also, this was our 10th show this summer and if I can say that it was perfectly enough, not one more not one less!
We flew in to Amsterdam late in the evening and stayed at this beautiful little hotel at the canals in the city centre. It had free things everywhere - everything in the mini bar; beers, waters, cokes and then snickers, chocolates, muffins, crisps, teas, coffes, whatever Since we were exhausted we just grabbed a bunch of Doritoes, finished them and went to bed to gather energy for the next day. It was my second time in Amsterdam. Last time I was somewhere 13 ish yo and played a world soccer cup, so didn't really experience the city that much then.
I think it is a big city (?) but it felt small, and cute. At least where we spent most of our time. And everywhere we went it all looked the same, bikes, canals, bridges, cute shops, coffee shops, tattoo stores, restaurants - especially them Argentinian beef houses, ha ha. Weather the next day was rainy and windy. I was sick this day so tried to cut the day in bits, do this and that and then go back to room to nap, and then head out again. A girl on Instagram (sorry I forgot who) recommended us to go to Green house (a coffee shop where people smoke weed and/or drink coffee), we decided to go there to check it out and in there covering the walls were young Eminem and young P!nk, and of course many other big artists like Rihanna and Bieber.
I think this was the day we ate food all the time, and desserts, ice creams and cheese plates and what not. As if we were high, which we weren't. Probably just compensating for them popcorn dinners we had on show days.
The next morning we checked out of our hotel, dropped our bags in the luggage room, had breakfast and met up this girl from Australia that got in touch with me on Instagram. She said she was a fan of us and loved what we were doing and wanted to have a coffee - yayyy Jeff we have our first fan! After meeting with her, we went to get our bees tattooed at this tattoo shop (it has 4.8 out of five starts from a gazillion reviews and everything looked great). I got mine on my ankle and Jeff got his on the arm. I thought his looked way better than mine. The artist started with me and even if the stencil looked good and without too many details he really overdid mine and made it way too dark with all the gazillion details on the tiny tattoo. In one year it will probably look like a black butterfly, haha. But Jeff, I'm happy you're happy with yours. I might add some white color to mine if that'd even be possible, ha ha. Whatevaz, at least the + that we did on each other was perfecttttt. And I love what it means to us.
After the tattoos we walked around the corner of the street and bumped into Justin and Stacy and had a quick chat before we were getting teas and coffees for take away. Then we crossed some bridge and bumped into a bunch of P!nkfans who sat at this restaurant and ate food. I saw them through the window and ran in and surprised them, WOOOHOOOO HELLLOOOO GUYSSSS, haha. It was our friends German Denise, Patric and Sophie, but also some of the new German friends that we hadn't met that much this tour since we didn't do any German gigs. We sat there with them and they were planning on trying to find P!nk, and we had nothing better to do so we said YES LET'S DO IT. We tried but didn't succeed. Someone also said later that P!nk wasn't feeling well, poor thing. We went to get an Egg toddy and bought some cheese at this cheese shop before catching the train to Den Haag with Sophie.
Sick as a dog I tried to stay social, but felt like my energy levels were low as we arrived to Sophie's P!nk palace (literally the biggest collection of P!nk things you'll find on this earth - amazing job Soph, I really don't know how you did it!). And thank you for opening your home to us.
We wrapped up the night around midnight and I think I coughed for 5 minutes before falling asleep (thank you thank you thank you). Our alarm got off at 6 am and I think I got up one hour later only because I knew some camera team was coming to interview Sophie about being the biggest P!nk fan. Otherwise I think I'd slept a couple more hours.
We arrived to Maliefield around 8.30 am and it was sooo cute, looked like a mini Central Park. There were trees all around the field and the stage was already set up and we could see it through fences they built around it. This was the final show for the European leg. It was also probably the most nonsocial queueing for me - I was all up in my thoughts. I remember Jeff asking me how I was, and I just said I'm saving my energy for the concert - which I did, too, cause I was sick, but I was also thinking so much. German Denise, German Pia, Dutch Denise, the Frenchies, Paul, Becca, Ashley, Karen, Renée, Sophie, Val, Anita - so many Shreadnet friends there! It was also cold as fuck until the sun shined through the clouds. Happy we didn't get rain, like we thought we would a couple weeks and days earlier.
We were so lucky to be in the front row middle, and again all thanks to the Event travel's Early entry package. We were about I donno, 400 people (both Event travel and Ticketmaster Early entry), WALKING in pairs into the pit. I was impressed nobody started to run and created chaos, ha ha. But then again nobody wants to mess with the amazing Tanya
Later when everyone had got in it was us, our new Aussie friend, the Frenchies, Sophie and the Germans at the end of catwalk. Of course we were all glittered up again, he he. And on our far left stood Jean-yves and his family - glad to finally meet you (sorry that I didn't copy your name at first - it was the speed and pronunciation that confused me, of course I know you from PP !). And all of our other friends stood in front of main stage on the left side.
Kid rocked the place like always, the Dutch blonde girl was cool - I personally think she should write more English songs and turn to rock rather than pop but that's just what I think, and then Vance! I think this was his best show so far. We jumped and danced and sang to every one of his songs and when he was getting off stage I did something else and this Aussie friend says "Dani, he looked at you and waved at you and thanked you, but you looked in your phone".. ops! Sorry, Vance. I get distracted too easily nothing personal!!! In between these acts Jeff and I were visited by bees, legit real ass bees, no not even wasps. And they came only to us. We LOOKED - they flew in to us and no one else (I think it was the 12 beer "shots" we bought, but still sooo funny). After all the bee visits Jack, the mic guy walks around the stage to set stuff up and what's on the back of his shirt? A HUGE FUCKING BEE. Covering his WHOLE back. Hahahaha.
Everyone one was soooo happy and in good mood and there was love everywhere - even on the metal things on the ground, there was a heart hole and the grass came out of it. I swear I was crying it was so beautiful.
On my way to toilets (ONE FRIGGIN TOILET AND THE LINE WAS HUGE - yeah I found my own place again, ha ha) I go up and talk to Angela and her husband - she wrote me on Instagram that she was behind us and wanted to say hi. I love that! And same with Drey and her gf - so happy we said hi! There were way too many messages that I got where people said they saw me/us and wanted to say hi but were too shy. We don't look that scary do we??!!!
So this was gonna be the last time P!nk goes up on stage in Europe this summer. And all of the things I thought about during this day just came up like flood all over me as soon as she got on stage - how blessed we have been to get this tour and to be able to do it and to have seen so many shows and cities and friends and been able to help friends and have friends help us, and we had so much fun and that everything went well and we're still alive and we have so so so so many amazing memories with us now. I managed the first few songs, but when Who knew came I couldn't really hold it baaaaaaaaahaaaa. It was gratitude combined with 'please don't leave us P!nk' haha - beautiful trauma?, it felt like she was gonna be gone forever again just like she was between 2014-2017, which were the weirdest years of my life probably. She can have her breaks but she needs to understand that she can't have a break like that again, ever *CRIES* I mean it could easily be 10 years this time, who knows. Plus all we have is now, we don't know about anything else than that, which is super beautiful but at the same it's scary as fuck too - nothing is for granted(!). And like Jeff said when he burst into tears; this might be the last tour we all do like this. Cause so many of us that do multiple shows and that travel around are at that age where we're getting kids. So next tour hopefully we'll be at least half of us going all in. But at the same time, that's what we all said last tour too, ha ha ha ha.
During Just like a pill she did the cutest face to us when she came out to the catwalk to say hi (so happy this photographer caught it on camera, see below) Also we stood just near the video camera man, Rob (sweetest guy in the world!) and that's where she looks at from main stage. So it felt like she was looking right at us all the time when she was on there
She was talking about a couple of songs she wish she had written haha, and she mentions a few and then she starts singing "My neck, my back..", hahahaha. Love her. River she killed AGAIN and we who knew the song rocked with her to it - I swear if she doesn't get more sick because of that After 90 days (oh my god how I didn't want it to end), she walks up to the catwalk to do her acoustic parts and somehow we start chatting - I think she's pointing at our glitter again hahahaha saying she likes it and our Aussie friend says I put it on everyone - and then she says it's so nice - and I've had tears running down my face for one hour now thinking I don't have any left and I say but P!nk I've been crying all day hahaha and then she goes aww don't cry and then well cry I cry I like to cry, and I remember saying it's the last show, and then she says I'll see you again, I love you Dani. And then I die again. In my head I'm saying I love you more but I'm also dying and everyone's going "awww" in there (SO MANY PEOPLE I'M ON SCREEN DYING GUYS), so my body isn't really synced with my brain and I just wanted to hide, hahahahaha. Not that the first time she said it in Zürich didn't shock me, but this time it shocked me even more cause I never thought she'd do it again. Is this the right English phrase: "caught off guard"? She asks who made the glitter and I'm thinking she asks who put it on everyone and I go meeee! WOOHOO. I'll put it on you too, meanwhile she wants it sent to her. So yeah guys, I better start making some organic glitter that I will cut piece by piece for next time I see her
After a few deep breaths, trying to collect myself she sings Walk me home and like always I'm so into it and signing along and then all of sudden she changes the lyrics to "there's something about the way she wants to cry" and she smiles and points at me and she totally made me SMILE but also die again, hahhaha. How fucking cute is sheeeeeeeeeee! Jesus christ so much love (Jeff have never seen me this shy, right Jeff )
And also how good are those camera men to cut that good, and swap between us during the convos, and all. Where are those cameras located anyway? I just seen one
Sophie gave her a gift and she took it, Frenchies told her it was their 52 gig and she said wow and then started to talk to them, but got interrupted. Our Aussie friend (I love to mention her as Aussie because I love how she flew here just for the show after following us on tour), she gave her Vegemite and P!nk just didn't really like it haha, it was funny, I love her honesty (I already warned her she wouldn't like it lol). Jean-Yves daughter managed to get her little pink caterpillar to P!nk and she was so so happy that P!nk took it. I saw her after the show and she gave me a big hug and was all sparkly - soooo cute. There was also this little guy, sitting on his mama's shoulders that had a gift to P!nk that he handed over to her. Adorable. And Drey and her gf got a congrats on getting married next year. Love the fan interaction and it felt like she was all up for all kinds of things on the last show - it felt spontaneous and fun
Jameson and Willow came on stage and surprised P!nk - her face when she saw the little guy So cute! He came out holding a little trumpet and running to his mama and wanting to play with Remi and all of them. And then when he had to get off stage his face was all sad I was happy to get it on camera and she even saw the video cause she liked it on Twitter.
During So what I tried sooo hard to catch a photo of her flying with the moon in the background (it looked like full moon almost) but there was a pole in the way of it, damnit! It looked magical Glitter was so emotional for me, especially when she got off stage to hug her babies and leave us for a while. Loved every bit of it.
What a fucking way to end European tour - she really nailed it and gave her ALL and MORE, sick or not sick, I don't know, there was no friggin way anyone could tell. I was so happy she did all the songs and that she had so much fun as well, just like we did. I swear even if I cried a lot I was among the happiest persons there. The setlist this summer has been perfect too - it's really a mix of everything and there's something for everyone. And OMG River <3 I screamed the loudest when I heard it was on the setlist in Amsterdam. I remember people saying "she's trying out some songs and things will probably change", well in your face. Ha!
I am so so so happy we got a summer tour again. Funhouse was really a good one and one of my favorite tours. And I remember seeing Eminem on his little stadium tour a few years ago. Being blown away by him selling out Twickenham stadium twice and a five-six other stadiums. And I remember saying who the hell does that? And here we are. P!nk proves us once again that she can do whatever the fuck she wants or whatever the fuck you think she can't, just name it. 27 outsold shows - TWO Wembley nights - 1.3 million people, in TWO MONTHS TIME. She did that.
And she finally seems to understand how much I love her - SCORE!!!!!!!!!!!!
And she loves me back <3
And there's so much love everywhere we went this summer - friends, old and new, random strangers, hotel people, food trucks people, shops, restaurants, security, people working at with the concerts, radios, tvs, Ubers, taxis, everywhere we went and looked there was love and kindness. Well besides a few assholes here and there. I noticed I react way faster on bullshit the happier I am = the more energy I have, ha ha. Mood killers -> execute (!)
Jeff I don't think I've laughed this much since I was about 21. Not only do we laugh CONSTANTLY with each other but we're also always there for each other, anytime, anywhere, for anything. Mom didn't give me a bigger brother like I wished for when I was little, so I'm happy I found you and made you mine.
I realized that this summer I was truly, honestly, to my fullest the happiest I could be again. Took me a couple years to get back here, but ha, made itttt.
I got to know old friends even better, definitely more good surprises than bad.
And I'm happy to have met so many new sweet and kind people. The amount of love on social media blew my mind too. I am not kidding if there were about 200 messages in the other request folder on Instagram, and not to mention the normal folder. It makes me smile that other people feel inspired by the things we are doing and that they are happy to join us on our adventure when they can't be there themselves - and that they actually take time to say this. I saw, I heard and I felt so much this summer - and to me that's being alive, free and happy - pretty much all I ever wanted to be.
THANK YOU.
I just got a better one of this but you get the deal
Had it not been for the Dutchies in Zürich we would have not added this show most likely. I mean, fine, the thought did cross our minds earlier too, that I won't lie.
THANK YOU.
