Hi there. So I didn’t want to post this in the P!NK thread since it’s not about P!NK, but about me. In 2014 I got a call to sing a bunch of P!NK songs at a bar in Long Island. I had no idea that the bass player who hired me for the gig had a bad falling out with his drummer. The drummer had his own P!NK Tribute Band. He was also a personal injury lawyer. He didn’t want his friends band to go on, so he sued his friend, me and one other person for $10,000,000, even though he had no rights to the songs. The case was mostly between the bass player and the drummer. Still I found out I could be in the legal system for years. I made a phone call to the New York Post in hopes of getting the case dropped. Instead of reporting on the real story, The New York Post wrote the article “Singer Sued for Being Too Old and Too Ugly for P!NK tribute Band”. This fake story went viral worldwide, Time, Perez Hilton, Yahoo News all reported that I was sued for being “too unattractive”. I tried to get the real story out in the media, but it was hard. I tried to change the laws so it couldn’t happen to anyone else, but I was blocked by lobbiests for the legal industry. So the best Incould Do was write a book! I fought the case for two years, paid $15,000 in legal fees and gave up my home to fight the case. I eventually won, but it was a struggle. I just wanted to share the first chapter of the book I wrote called “Confessions of a Bad, Ugly Singer” about my journey. The first chapter is called “Not in on the Joke”. If you read this far, thank you! criminal.media/confessions-of-a-bad-ugly-singerCollette
