Ok just because you're my friend and because I love you most of the time, Jeffrey.
My mom threw a few ones at me when I was younger, which I realized later were good for me. But words are nothing unless you experience them yourself. I guess that's when you know the true value of it all. So from swedish/croatian to english, it'd sound something like this:
"Love hard, but don't ever make anyone your whole world if you're not strong enough to stand alone"
"Don't fight for something just because you're used to the fight"
"Just because you can do something and get away with it doesn't always make it okay"
"Let beautiful words make you happy, but believe them only when they happen" (something like that)
She said loaaaaaads of good things. And she still does. Anyway a few others I like:
"How people treat you is their karma. How you react is yours"
"Absence is to love as wind is to fire; it extinguishes the small and enkindles the great"
"Once you figure out what respect tastes like, it tastes better than attention"
"People who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do”
"Creativity Is intelligence having fun”
“Gratitude turns what we have into enough”
“‘Enough’ is a Feast”
"I always find beauty in things that are odd and imperfect - they are much more interesting"
"Turn your face towards the sun, let the shadows fall behind you"
I have sooo many more but I think this is enough for now
Just because I have nothing else to do, here are some more:
"When you reach the end of your rope, tie a knot in it and hang on"
"There is nothing permanent except change"
"Good judgment comes from experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgment"
"The only journey is the one within"
"Happiness can exist only in acceptance"
"Not all those who wander are lost"
"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work"
"If opportunity doesn't knock, build a door"
"For it was not into my ear you whispered, but into my heart. It was not my lips you kissed, but my soul"
"She thinks I'm too critical. That's another fault of hers." "I mean it's one banana, Michael, what could it cost? 10 dollars?" -"I have all the afternoon free." -"Really? Did "nothing" cancel?" -"Get rid of the seaward!" -"I'll leave when I'm good and ready!"
And when it comes to more serious, "Treat others the same you want to be treated" is a good quote to live by.
- "Don't be the person who other people want you to be, but be yourself every day, take the risk to don't be liked by all the people but to be happy". - "Loving isn't a privilege, it's only skill, it's laughing at every problem... While those who hate, tremble" (from a song by Tiziano Ferro).
"Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Be kind. Always."
And a little related to that:
"My life happens to, on occasion, suck beyond the telling of it. Sometimes more than I can handle. And it's not just mine. Every single person down there is ignoring your pain because they're too busy with their own. The beautiful ones, the popular ones, the ones that pick on you. Everyone. If you could hear what they were feeling. The loneliness, the confusion. It looks quiet down there. It's not. It's deafening."

Not quite official quotes but i really love some of Rupi Kaur's poetry/writing....
"and here you are living, despite it all"
"the universe took its time on you, crafted you precisely so you could offer the world something distinct from everyone else, so when you doubt how you were created, you doubt an energy greater than us both"
"let it go, let it leave, let it happen, nothing in this world was promised or belonged to you anyway. all you own is yourself"
"you were a dragon long before they came along and told you you could fly. you will remain a dragon long after they've left"
And Maya Angelou also has some amazing things to say....
"Prejudice is a burden that confuses the past, threatens the future and renders the present inaccessible."
"My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style."
"You can't use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have."
