My computer couldn't even sync my iPhone to iTunes because space is full. I have an external disk which is like +5 years old, meaning I need to get something else ASAP. There are online based things like iCloud or similar or other external hard drives, but I donno what to get. I want it to be easy to view (like normal compueter folders), I have dropbox with loads of free space but I hate it, plus it's slow. So should I get a normal external harddrive and change it again after 5 years, or sign up for iCloud and pay 9 euros every month until forever. I'd die if things got hacked through iCloud so maybe it's better with an external thing, hahaha. HELP!

Well, it'd be the best to have more than one storage, i.e. a backup in case a hard drive fails, which can happen anytime. So if you want to be sure, have more than one hard drive, or even some backup on DVD or something. Other option would be to use some cloud storage, but use encrpyted zip files (don't forget the password) so even if the cloud would be hacked, they'd still need to break the password (be sure to use a long password though, like 20 characters or more). Todays password crackers on graphic cards use large numbers of attempts in a very short time, so the longer the password, the safer your data is.

One is like 10 years old and one 5 years old, haha. I didn’t know you could encrypt zip files like that. Not that anyone’s interested in my life anyway but some pics from years ago are just embarrassing, but fun, hahah. So iCloud is a good option then, hmmm! Good. Danke meine liebe

I just found that there was 8 backup copies of my iPhone (4-6 GB each). No wonder my laptop was full and I had no idea how, haha.

Don't know if you still need it, but definetley go with an external hard drive. They are just big thumb drives (USB), so the folders work exactly like on the computer. Some of them even have free online cloud backups too.
