On ticket prices? I mean, tour rolls around and we all put ourselves in massive debt. The numbers keep rising....
Pink is an amazing performer and we love her, and she DOES put on the best shows out of anybody in the industry.
But..... it IS an industry, people are out to make money, which is understandable - but it feels like it’s getting out of hand.
Some of us have said “f*** it” years ago when the VIP tickets first happened. Others have struggled and tried to make it happen, putting off necessities, “it’s ok, I can just eat noodles”
It just feels to me like it’s gotten way out of hand.
People shrug and say 🤷🏻♀️ It’s the way things work now. It’s the ticket industry, it’s scalpers, it’s fair market price etc etc etc
But can we try and do something to look out for the long time supporters? SOMETHING? Anything?
Some examples:
- Pearl Jam has their fan club, fan club members were allocated tickets for the shows they wanted to go to, they still had to buy them, but they got an early sale, before everybody else. Also, the seat that popped up we’re base on how long you have been a member - fans that have been a member longer for better tickets - Billy Joel saves the front row to give away to the fans in the back. - Some performers say “fuck Ticketmaster” as sell tickets through their own website all together. I remember Louis CK doing this. Ticketmaster and their “platinum seats thing” is a complete joke - it’s ticketmaster not letting fans access the best seats early on and jacking up the price. They are scalping their own tickets and I have no idea how this is legal. - Some artist set a set price for ALL tickets - for example. “Tickets are $40, doesn’t matter if you get front row or last row, same price” - I believe Rod Stewart is doing this on the current tour. (I know Kid Rock did it.... and Kid Rock is a dick, if he can look out for his fans, can’t Pink) - make tickets non transferable. Make em like airline tickets. You buy a seat and it’s yours associated with your ID..... I understand sometimes things happen and you find out you can’t go to the show, but let the person return the ticket and let it be resold - individuals don’t need to make profits on reselling their tickets (this is what fucks up thebmarket) - eliminate all forms of scalping / reselling and things should balance out
It just feels like nothing has been done for us. The SHREADNET “presale” was just a code word, that could be used and reused. It was even sold on eBay :/ ...... For fan club presales they should do individual unique codes so they can’t just be used by anybody - only the person it was designed for.
I love Pink and the band, and I love the tours. I love seeing everybody, our friends. I’m not ungrateful for everything she does / has done. But when I started making this thread about the “line”, I made it because I think I’m just about to that line. I just can’t afford to be doing this for too much longer. And even when I magically scrape together the money for a show, I get sad knowing that other diehard fans can’t. Our friends aren’t there with us.
The PIT has changed, you don’t see as much excitement as was once there. Let us spend the night queueing for the front, let us freeze outside and almost eaten by wolves. Let us sit for hours and hours on the cold cement and get more and more excited for what we are about to be part of. The queueing was half the fun, making new friends and working off each others energy and talking about our favorite person artist performer inspiration activist role model.
I can’t do this anymore and it makes me reallllllly f***ing sad, because it has been a part of us for so long.
Can something be done? Or will it keep getting worse?

I agree with everything you’ve said, and the radio silence makes it even worse. I promised I’d take my daughter to a gig and the thought of letting her down has hit me hard (yeah, I shouldn’t have promised, but I didn’t know it would be this bad). If it costs more than I have saved when UK dates are announced then that’s it. I can’t (responsibly) do any more than that. Gigs shouldn’t be an exclusive club for the rich. I thought P!nk would look after us. She knows how diverse her fan base (or family as she used to refer to us) are and the profound effect her music/gigs have on us. She must know the importance. I am disappointed. She 100% could do something if she wanted to. I have always blamed her team and Ticketmaster etc., anyone but her, but I am beginning to think maybe she does need to be held accountable in order to make a change. My rose-tinted glasses are off.

A friend mentioned to me that part of the silence might be due to contractual reasons..... like, if you have a contract w/ TicketMaster, you aren’t usually allowed to say things negative about them / do anything to jeopardize sales.
Perhaps she is seeing our tweets and isn’t responding for that reason.
But I feel like she could at least say SOMETHING.
Like maybe not talk bad about ticketmaster or prices but say something in response to scalping / making things fair, for example, “I hate it too, we are going to try and find a way to fix it”
However, we had that sort of response about SHREADNET and never heard any update from her. So I’m not so sure I’d believe it.
Ughhhhhh. It’s hard... I wanna believe she loves us, but w/ the way it is now it seems everything is money money money money.
Come on, and give us a Fanclub, give us something.... some way to fix it. Or better yet, just give us a small venue tour, $60 all standing <3 Come on, Pink, you know you’d have fun

Right now, I envy Xtina fans, because she will tour in smaller venues. Okay, maybe this is not her choice. I also know that her show can't be compared to Pink...
I'm nostalgic because I saw Pink so many times in the early 2000s. As time goes by, I realize that I won't be able to attend her shows that much. I had dream to bring my kids with me, being a touring family. But I only got ticket for myself. My line is here...

As if scalpers weren't bad enough, Ticketmaster Platinum Tickets are a joke. I was excited to see Pit tickets become available today for the show nearest me. Just to find out they are Platinum Tickets meaning they can raise the price based on demand (or when ever they want really ). $650 for a Pit ticket, not even early entry. I can't do it ... Not when I can pay $200 something for tickets to the same show.. Sure they aren't as good as the pit but i just won't pay for thier Platinum crap ripoff.

Personally, I just got cheaper seats. While I'm technically in the stands, I'm front row of the stands, so it's almost the floor anyway. Would I rather be in the pit/ front row? Hell yeah, but I don't want to break the bank either. I would rather be there than not, so that's my two cents. It is really unfortunate though, but it won't keep me from going.

I have too much fun at her shows to not go. I’m not sure what my limit would be in terms of prices. I’ve already spent a shit ton of money this tour but I don’t regret it at all. I’ve actually never gone to more than 3 shows on one tour until this one. I was never able to afford it before. I always wondered how the people who went to like 20+ shows afforded it, and was super jealous. But the total price of those shows, even with much lower prices, had to of been in the thousands. So what’s the difference? Is it really just about seeing a ton of shows each tour? Is seeing one or two “ not worth it”? And there have always been fans who couldn’t afford her shows, even when they were like 50 bucks. Some people can’t afford to even spend $5 on something that isn’t a necessity, so people were always being priced out. Now it’s just that even more people are. I wish that she would take a stand against all of the Ticketmaster scalping bullshit, but even if she doesn’t. I’m still going to the shows. I’m lucky to be self-employed now and make enough money to not be going into any real debt by going to the shows.

For me, it’s not even about whether I personally can afford it or not, I’m just sad seeing the front row turn into a big cash grab.... like i get it.... other artists do it.... i also get the artists reasoning (tickets are being sold on the after market for hundreds, so why not have the money go directly to the artist).... I get it all. i just wish an effort would be made to stop scalping, and not allowing Ticketmaster’s “platinum seats” - it’s not fair that real fans have to pay such an up charge. most tickets aren’t ever getting in to fans hands on the first go. im sad to see it like this. im also sad being in the PIT not seeing certain faces I used to see. I’m sad that money has so much to do with it. i want us all there, dancing, singing, having a great time.

Those GA tickets are not 259. Don’t fucking even write that because none of us get to buy them for that price!!!!!!! I wish Pink’s people would hold ten of them tickets for us on every show and give us one hour to get them when the sale is. And if some shows we didn’t buy them up or none of us going, then send it out back to Ticketmaster. Is that too much to ask for? I know none of us would scalp and if they’d be afarid of that happening then make them personalized or whatever. Not my job to solve this issue but it needs to be solved somehow. It’s breaking my heart for fans to the point that if nothing is said by her or her people until I’m about to see the shows, I’m considering selling my tickets.

Let her apologize herself if that’s the case with Ticketmaster. She doesnt have to retweet or whatever. She can just write her own tweet and say something. I serious couldn’t care less about what or how. What’d they think? That we’d be happy about this? They’ve seen it coming FOR SURE. They just don’t give a crap.
