This year will mark two years since The Ellen DeGeneres Show/The Ellen Show/Ellen aired its final episode.
P!nk was one of the first musical guests to appear on her show in late 2003, and was its final musical guest in 2022.
It's safe to say that P!nk was one of her most frequent guests (I counted 15 appearances?), even writing and performing the show's theme song which she went on to win an Emmy for.
The show, aided by their chemistry and Ellen's constant praise, became an important PR tool for P!nk to promote her music or to speak directly to the public, such as when announcing her pregnancy or discussing her COVID-19 diagnosis.
Personally, I think P!nk no longer having this platform to perform a new single, or to casually 'drop in' about other things, has had to have contributed to the 'off the radar' disconnection from the general public that we've been observing.
Sure, there are other daytime chat shows around now but there was a time when Ellen's show probably reached more US and worldwide households than all of the current chat shows combined.
Drew's show doesn't accommodate performances and, aside from those special acoustic episodes, Kelly's is the only singing performance on hers.
P!nk's team has had to have been feeling this promotional void since Ellen left our screens.
Does anyone else have any thoughts on this? Which was your favourite Ellen appearance?

I can see your point of view, but tbh i think its a lot more of the fact her last 2 albums has basically been Beautiful Trauma repeated twice over and shes turning herself into a ballad singer. When NGNDA was released, the overall comments were this just sounds like every other pink song. I'm certain thats more her problem than Ellen ending. Like, she now has Kelly Clarkson's show to go on now instead of Ellen so whats the difference?

Funny you mention that, Kelly has very similar ratings and with Ellen getting into some hot water with how she treated her staff, it may have been a blessing. P!nk did get on 60 Minutes which has 8 times the viewership of Ellen.

I'll have to take your word on those figures. Without a regular appearance platform like Ellen's show, I'm not sure that P!nk is staying as front-of-mind to the general public after an initial album launch and between projects. As a live performer, she no longer seems to have a regular TV show on her home turf to perform anything beyond a first single, like she once could on Ellen's show.

Also, Kelly's show isn't as globally popular. Yes, there are definitely other factors that have led to P!nk's drop in sales, but my point is that this is a contributing and significant one in terms of general public PR. Also, the frequency is note-worthy. P!nk was on Ellen's show almost yearly, whereas she's appeared on Kelly's just once since it launched over four years ago.

But i still dont think Ellen ending has impacted her career, whats impacted it is her music has become watered down, her edginess is gone and shes releasing ballads or songs that sound like the theme tune to a kids TV show. Thats the problem. i said on here before, i got excited in 2022 when she released Irrelevant abd thought aw fab!! shes going down the mature rock route, perfect! But she then released a pop kiddy song like NGNDA, and people were commenting 'this is just like every other song of hers', 'this sounds nothing new' etc. Thats the problem, she cant rely on a chat show to last forever for her to have continual success, Ellen is lucky her show lasted 19 years, many dont

What I want to add to that: Ellen "checked" P!nk once or twice and vice versa - meaning, they played off of each other really well by not being "lovey-dovey and nothing else" to each other, but still very respectful. With Kelly, it's like a fan talking to P!nk, kissing the ground she walks on, and with Drew... I don't really know :S She seems so overtly SUPER DUPER NICE that my cynical brain always goes "oh, this is so laughably fake". I had no clue they were such big buds tbh so seeing an entire show dedicated to P!nk was a bit of a "huh?" moment. Ellen brought the "two long-time friends enjoying each other's company in the living room" sort of vibe out of their interviews which is lacking with the others, and I think that fun atmosphere is what made those interviews so special. The Ellen show might not have been the biggest PR component but a component nonetheless - maybe P!nk's most convenient. She can go on any other show to sing and plug whatever, but it seemed a tad more special and resounding when she did it on Ellen.
