One of the producers that I wished she had kept around for a while longer is Eg White.
I think he brought something new to the table (not only for her, but the mainstream music landscape back then through her) and it would have been amazing if they had explored that kind of soundscape more in depth to the point of actually releasing some songs as singles to really shake things up.
Lyrically, they did beautiful work together with the songs and he really knew how to accentuate her voice in his productions with those jazzy, late night funky and a bit of neo-retro bluesy inflections. Especially during her "raspier" years he took her voice to the track and made it soar, plunging those lyrics right into our hearts with ease.
There's a few unreleased tracks they did together and I hope they will see the light of day soon, but as of now:
I just wanted to create an appreciation thread of them two working together even though I know these songs are not the most liked in the fandom. It's sad that they were only able to scratch the surface of their creativity cause I really think he could have been her next Linda Perry in the way of doing something outlandish musically for the time and laying it all bare emotionally.
