Blacklisted? It was not. It flopped. It happens.
She had released Family Portrait first and it didn’t do too well, it was her first kinda look warm single after a large string of hits, then Feel Good Time came and we all know how that did, and then Trouble which was another luke warm single. She was already on a downward trend singles wise.

Trouble for sure. Love that video. It's perfection to me and I also still love that song so much.
Don't care that it wasn't one of her biggest hits, because that only makes the song more special. I've never really liked its video because I'm not really into that western aesthetic. I wish the video had more beauty close-ups like those before she cracks her whip and while on the bar top.

In fairness, FP was the fourth single, when promo and public interest tends to run out of steam, yet it was still critically praised and attracted a lot of new fans. I always felt like GIAD had way more potential. I still love that song and its message, and thank L.A. Reid for pushing her to go back into the studio to craft it.

I don’t disagree with FP and fourth singles, but it still was the first single to flop from that era, if it had been say 18 Wheeler, I don’t know if it would have had the same fate. FP probably would have still flopped if it had been released second or third. It’s a great song, just not a radio smasher. Then Feel Good Time happened. Then Trouble, God is a DJ. It was just a string of downward singles, so it was really hard to come back after that. Trouble wasn’t blacklisted imo. It would happy to anyone, it has to happened to other artists as well. Thankfully she was able to come back with IND. What’s this about LA Reid pushing for Glitter?

This kind of rings a bell, what's this story about? Also, I agree with you on GIAD (aka God is a Dj ) I think it had huge potential to be a hit. Try This just didn't click with the general public. I LOVED IT, I always had it on my portable cd player (lol). Actually yesterday Save My Life came on while I was at home singing some P!nk haha and I got a bit emotional, it took me back to those days. And now that we know about her problems with her label and the rights for M!ss, she probably was in a very dark place during TT and perhaps Save My Life is, indeed, about her at the time. OP: I couldn't pick just one! Maybe one from each album: - Most Girls: So strong! She's always been an !con - Don't Let Me Get Me: made me fall in love with her, I would always draw her looks from this one, specially the final look with the dreads - Trouble: I've always LOVED this video and song! So unique and fun; a mess as well haha. - Stupid Girls: Such an exciting time when this video came out. I love it still, it was necessary at the time! - Sober: Just amazing! And P!nk on P!nk action, need I say more lol - Try: Her best!!! Just stunning <3 - Beautiful Trauma: So fun and amazing photography - Walk Me Home: It's simply beautiful! - Trustfall: I love everything about this video! It's so shocking that she still manages to create such interesting and amazing work! I'm such a geek

it was blacklisted by the radio in the USA. It was actually on the radio a lot in Boston. And it won her a Grammy. Why did it peak at #60 in the USA???

Commercially, maybe, but it was such an important song in her early discography and far from an artistic or critical failure. I mean, she and her label released it with intention, right? Not GITA but GIAD (God Is A DJ).

She touched on it during the TT promo interviews... L.A. Reid felt that TT was missing a pop single and suggested that she go back into the studio to craft one. Due to this, she connected with Billy Mann for the first time, and the result was GIAD. By the way, I'm pretty sure SML is not a personal story but about Brody Dalle, Tim Armstrong's ex? Still, it's an incredible song and one that we know P!nk can relate to regardless.

However, it’s not not my point though, I’m stating it was the start of a downward trend on “radio in the states,” which went further on with FGT, Trouble and God Is A DJ. My comment was regarding her being blacklisted. And while I understand it wasn’t a flop per se, it kinda was compared to her other singles.

Okay, but it did reach #20 in the US Billboard Hot 100 and #5 on US Mainstream Top 40 (Billboard) (whatever that is), which is nothing to sneeze at for a fourth single. Also, sometimes, back in the day, labels would limit the release of a certain song in certain territories so that it would push the album's sales more. I know that they did this with JLAP in Australia for a period of time. Are we sure that FP's perceived flop on US radio wasn't because of this strategy which, in the bigger picture sense, helped drive album sales instead? Anyhoo.
