(This is my response to the now deleted original post)
I’m shocked that there is anyone on earth who doesn’t know who TS is. 😂
I went to the Eras tour back in May and it was actually a great show. Is she as good of a vocalist/performer as P!nk? Heck no, but her power and her fan base’s power is there undeniable. I’ve never seen so many people singing along and dancing for an entire show….which was 3.5 hours long. I obviously prefer P!nk’s music overall but if I were comparing lyric writing abilities on their most recent albums, I think Taylor may win that as well. She has some clever af lyrics in lots of her songs, as much as I hate to admit it! And so many damn hits on the radio. I think her tour is also going to end up being the biggest/highest grossing tour of all time.

Her music is horrible.

I don't know many Taylor Swift songs either, but P!nk herself mentioned her a few times (especially during the VMA incident) and said she liked her, and Taylor seems to be a fan of P!nk as well. I can remember her covering Who Knew on one of her tours. Don't have anything against her. Don't know much about her. So i'm kinda indifferent. Don't have spotify. If people like her music (and it looks like quite a few do) then that's great for them. Everyone connects differently with singer/songwriters they like. Maybe some day I'll stumble upon a Taylor Swift song that totally grabs me. Who knows. But even I can't deny the "celebrtiy" of Taylor Swift and through "pop culture osmosis" heard things here and there, like how she tries to get back all ownership to her music album after album, how policymakers named a law after her in order to criminalize ticket scalping in Brazil, etc.

Her music is horrible. Have you even listened to a lot of her music? I recently listened to her new album because many of my friends were hyped about it. It was more or less what I was expecting. The songs were good, but not amazing. There were a lot of lyrics (something alecia hasn’t been doing recently) which made for nice, “meaty” songs. But a lot of the bridges included elements of the chorus which I don’t really love. And every song sounded very similar, which isn’t a bad thing but I prefer the way that Alecia experiments with genres. Also, her voice just doesn’t have the same magic that Alecia’s has, it’s very basic. So i wouldn’t say it’s a bad album by any means, and i can understand why many love her, but i was happy when it ended. One thing I will say is, she knows how to please her fans and i love that. The hints she always drops, the way she’s providing her fans with extra songs, the super long tour, the surprise songs that she sings, and more. I do wish Alecia would do something other than using the same tour (and album) format…

Wait did you delete the original post?! Who is "you" and what was the original post? Sorry, I mean the original poster “itsatrustfallbaby”. The first post on the thread, which is from me, is actually a reply to the original thread which was a paragraph talking about how they had never heard of this “Taylor Swift person” and that it’s crazy they’re considered to be such a big pop star. I don’t remember the exact wording now. 😅

Taylor Swift is extremely popular, and I couldn't be less of a fan. Next!

LOL. I highly doubt TS cares what we think. She is taking in about $2.4 million every show and has 10,000 fans lined up outside stadiums just to listen. I think she’s greedy and hurts more independent artists than she helps, but the formula seems to work for her.

And while having one huge artist may not help independent artists, I don't think she's setting out to ruin other people's careers. Also, some people may also argue that P!nk is being just as, if not more greedy. Putting out three similar albums in a row, and basically doing the same tour for the past decade but selling tickets at super high prices...

Putting out three similar albums in a row, and basically doing the same tour for the past decade but selling tickets at super high prices... I think what makes her greedy is the fact that she merchandises herself to the extreme at the expense of her fans. One album printed in 3 or 4 different colors, 2 or more “versions” with different bonus songs on each one. Gads, just looking for the original Midnights release on Apple or Spotify gives me a headache. AND…She recently sent out an email offering download of live versions of a couple of songs off her latest album. Even raking in over $2 million per show she’s not above sticking it to fans for another six bucks. Now, I never said she was trying to ruin other artists careers, but did you know there has been a vinyl shortage and some indie groups have blamed her and her multiple versions? www.newsweek.com/bands-pan-taylor-swifts-midnights-she-blame-vinyl-delays-1754025I don’t think P!nk, thankfully, is even in the same league. I don’t dislike TS music. Nobody can write a love song like Taylor. Like I said, she’s been basically writing the same two songs for 20 years. They both were really good!

Edit: Side note, are we seriously saying Taylor has been writing the same two songs for years? Umm P!nk is the biggest culprit of that. Taylor is a story teller, through and through, and that’s why she’s doing so well.

I won't name any other names but I think most could guess who I'm referring to. By the way, are you suggesting that P!nk is less of a storyteller than Taylor? I'm not too phased but just curious.
