Both artists rose to fame at the same time and Xtina's debut received more media attention due to Britney's comparisons whereas P!nks's debut was underrated. But now in 2023 P!nk is selling out stadiums worldwide and her album Trustfall went #1 in 3 big music markets: UK, Germany and Australia whereas Xtina's last top 5 solo hit was in 2002 and she released 4 consecutive flop albums: Bionic - Lotus - Liberation - Aguilera (failed to chart on Billboard 200). What are the facts that caused their careers to lead to such different paths?

Christina was a notoriously unpleasant person to work with, and karma has a funny way of biting one's ass.
P!nk was and is way more charming, does good business, crafted catchier songs, and pounded the touring pavement.
Having said that, I really enjoyed Christina's Liberation album, which deserved more commercial success.

Yeah, just better or more likeable personality, better songs and definitely way waaaay more working her ass off on tour. People are still impressed by a good live performance.

Christina's Liberation album this album is a gigantic flop. it stayed on the chart for 2 weeks and sold only 120k worldwide. she kept flopping harder with each album: Bionic (650k worldwide) - Lotus (500k worldwide) - Liberation (120k worldwide) - Aguilera (10k worldwide)

It was artistically successful, however, I feel. Every artist has their commercial flops, and album sales have dwindled across the board with each passing year. Christina's predicament could also come down to poor management, and she did battle alcoholism at one stage.

That album's release was wrecked by Gaga's comparisons. It was also the year end P!nk kept solidifying her legend status with 2 smash hits Raise Your Glass and Fucking Perfect.

P!nk kept hitting the pavement. Christina did The Voice. Christina’s albums haven’t been that great the last few, minus a few songs here and there.

P!nk is also a writer, and Xtina isn't. P!nk found her voice long ago and went with it wholeheartedly. Xtina never truly found her "voice" - obvi one of the best singers ever - but her songs are allll over the place. I once read that for Bionic, she did an MIA-written track, "Elastic Love," MIA was surprised that Xtina took the track, and made zero changes to make it her own. Both MIA and I were surprised (me acting like I was there, LOL).
P.S. Bionic is pretty good now; if you go back and listen, it's much better.

I think another important factor in P!nk's success (and compared to Christina's) is 'keeping the momentum up'.
For instance, there have been a number of events that she and her team have capitalised off of, whether by design or happy accident:
1) Being the first of the LM bunch to release music after the song's global success; a collaboration that undoubtedly contributed to M!ssundaztood's commercial success 2) Beating people to the tabloid punch and doing it with such humour with So What, including Carey's appearance in the video which was a big part of the song's success 3) The industry acclaim around her January 2010 Grammys GITA performance played a huge role in the commercial success of her GHSF singles that came out later that year 4) A big part of WAU's 'success' was due to the immense public sentiment following her 2017 MTV VMA speech, which came just a couple of weeks after the song's release
Capitalising off of these events can open doors and ensure more eyes and ears are on her in the moment, but it's the quality of the music that followed them that truly 'sealed the deal', of course.
Then, there are the numerous other career-celebrating awards/performances orchestrated by her management on the eve of album releases which are a smart tactic to remind people of her past successes.

No matter how much time has passed, I still detest Bionic. And her last English record was terrible. Bionic had a couple decent songs, but overall, it’s a mess. Still. And no, I will not use her excuse of it’s ahead of it’s time.

And no, I will not use her excuse of it’s ahead of it’s time. Yes. I only use 3 songs from Bionic: monday morning, vanity and elastic love. Her last English album ''Liberation'' is horrible and a giant flop, it sold only 120k worldwide. Bionic isn't ''ahead of its time'', it's just Xtina's excuse for her album flopping because the GP didn't care.
