Fuck.. I was jumping around on YouTube, playing random songs. I was reminiscing about past tours and playing openers from past tours, just cause. I typed in VV Brown, even though I remember not being a fan of hers on the carnival tour (she didn’t seem to have much a stage presence and was just kinda boring to me), however, I liked her Shark In The Water song. So I typed that in.... You know how they have the suggested videos pop up? So I’m only a few seconds in to listening to VV Brown, and below her video I see a suggested video of Christina Grimmie covering VV Brown Well.... I had never heard her sing before, but I remembered her name. She was the young 22 year old singer shot and killed outsider her concert in Orlando the day before the Pulse Nightclub shooting.... As I said, I had never heard her, but I’m like - ok, maybe I’ll click her version instead. I click that, and again since I’m so spazzy, before I listen to that, I see listed down below Christina Grimmie covering Perfect by Pink. So I ultimately decided to click that in the end. Got about 20seconds in and just started crying  Her version wasn’t the bestest version in the world, but it’s sad seeing somebody so young and happy and going after their dreams, and then knowing that they lost their life at 22. I remember being on my couch after work, and seeing the news of THAT shooting, at the time she wasn’t officially announced dead, something like 15min later she was dead. Then the very next day was that Pulse shooting where what? 50 people died? This country needs to change. The whole world needs change. But America has to do something about all these crazy mass shootings. Ughhhhh. Ok gonna try and give the song a full listen now, and just listen to it for what it is - without letting my mind get too caught up in all the attached tragedy around that weekend. |
