 Awww damn. That was her. But I remember I enjoyed that act best and that Ego song curly haired girl.

I wish I had had more energy those days. I was so exhausted from life it was c r a z y.

One of my favorite tracks from Everlast.
I have always loved these lyrics of his, and felt that they were authentic, kinda deep, especially from him, somebody who usually has more of a tough guy vibe.

The song / album came out in 2008 or sometime around then.
And it’s still one of my favorite albums.

BUT, just the other day, I heard a bit of an interview where he talks about this song.
I guess he wrote this on he night that his father died.
His dad died, and then he sat down and wrote this song.
He goes on in the interview to say, “this song isn’t about that, but....”
“a lot of the songs I write aren’t about what inspires them.....”

It’s kinda cool to get some perspective about what was going on in somebody’s head when they wrote something,
Some of the opening lines “I know I’m kinda fucked, because I’m my fathers son” and “this is my darkest night...” have more meaning to me now.

I mean, the songs about a girl,
But it’s also just kinda about loss in general..... he lost his father, but he’s singing about missing a girl

Music is rad, and I know it’s therapy for those who can do it.
I wish I was one who could my feelings into shit like this.

It's funny, we have a running gag with my husband that every time we watch something and someone goes "what about...?" We're both like WHAT ABOUUUT UUSSSS? ❤❤
