Halloween (2018) ... now that was rather poor, even with Jamie Lee. I thought it was ok. it was kinda cool that they just threw away every other sequel and just ran this as a direct sequel to the original. Loved the "isnt he your moms brother?", "No thats just something people made up", to get that idea out of the way - and brought it back to Michael just being a crazy w/ no real motive. The ending was "eh", and a lot of the middle stuff was "eh", but I think it was a decent Halloween film.

When Laurie said "Michael killed five people" I was like "Say what?". Ok, 5 in the first movie, but 10 more in Halloween II, which was the same night, so 15 would've been the correct number. But over all it was average, even the kills were mostly poor, and then they wanted to make up for that with the head smash of the doctor. Meh. But it wasn't bad, rather average. Nothing special, and I've to say, Jamie Lee looks a lot better with short hair!

Halloween II is where it was revealed that Michael was her brother, so they threw that movie out completely rather than partially. I dunno. I liked that aspect. I thought it was goofy though, when whats his name, Loomis' student dude put Michaels mask on. I'm like "oh nooo, dont be doing this" and then they quickly went away from that and back on track. π€·π»ββοΈ

Separating them makes no sense to me, besides I don't get why Michael being Laurie's brother would be "bad" for the story anyway. But yes, I thought don't fuck this up, too, when the doctor put the mask on, fortunately that ended quickly.

I think the reason to ignore HALLOWEEN II in this new movie is because having Michael be Lauries brother gives him a motive. They wanted him to be more of a crazy boogieman type again. Like he was in the first. Just a psycho. π€·π»ββοΈ Nothing wrong w/ II, but its just creating a new story line for a character. I thought it was fun. Comic books do it too, write a whole new story for the same characters ignoring other stories w/ them completely. I dont think this movie was necessary at all, But it was decently entertaining. I dont know if I'll ever see it a second time - but it was fun once. :]
