Betty Broderick Story, the 1992 made for TV version with Meredith Baxter....
I hear there is a recent NETFLIX series that covers it, DIRTY JOHN with Christian Slater & Amanda Peet...
Maybe I’ll watch that later.

What took you so fucking long!? Also if it makes you feel any better I think I have to watch it again tomorrow to catch more.... I liked it though, and it made me laugh quite a few times.... Also super bizarre at points and I’m trying to decipher what some of the messages are supposed to mean. Is Altman (and Michael Tolkin) just mocking every single person in existence? Directors? Writers? Movie-goers? 🙃 also I really hope, even if it doesn't exist for us to watch, I hope Robert Altman shot a different ending just out of principal of changing the endings. like I said, I dont even need to see the other ending, I just want to know that another ending exists No response to any of this, drnick? 😤

I think they mock the people (writers, producers, directors, movie-goers) who always want big movie stars and the happy ending, although - financially - that's still how it works most of the time. I'm not aware of different endings atm.
Btw what's your theory who the postcard writer is?

You probably won't like my answer... And I might change my mind after a second watch. But I think there may be zero answer to that. I think thats the point of it all... The postcard writer is the actual writer of the film that we are watching, Michael Tolkin (but since its Altmans directing - he's throws himself in there too). The postcard writer is bits of each of them. I think the whole thing is just a little jab at the film industry as a whole, and the fans. Its like a tongue in cheek ending, that also serves as a confession - like look at what we did to get here *wink wink wink*... I dunno if there's any point in trying to find somebody within the film who is the writer. Altman tries to feed you things throughout the movie to make you suspect its this person, or that person, But in reality it's none of them. And he doesn't give you an answer just so you don't get that closure. It's trying to do what the imaginary movie in the film Habeas Corpus was intended to do. Upset the viewer. I dunno.. Is my thought process dumb? Does it annoy you that I dont have anybody specific picked out? It'd be fun to pretend its Bonnie, or June, or Larry. But I dont like those answers either. I'm glad we don't find out though. To go off on a tangent, AMERICAN BEAUTY, I think it was a horrible choice to show who killed Kevin Spacey. I like letting the viewer decide. and my decision is that the postcard writer of, THE PLAYER, is the real peoples responsible for the film.

or if I'm going to dive in and make it be somebody in the movie universe. its none of the major characters we see on screen.
its just a past disgruntled writer (not shown) 🤷🏻♀️

like are there legitimate clues anywhere? or is it just constantly trying to throw the viewer off.
June calling Griffin "The Dead Man" or whatever she calls him. The snakelike shapes in the painting, etc
Like they want you to think its her, but its not.

He's wearing similar clothes like Kahane, 2. the voice sounds like him on the phone at the end, but due to it being a phone call it's not possible to be 100% sure.
Your thougt process is not dumb, it's just a game IMO to think about who is it, because it is not revealed in the movie. And Dani's theory was it's June, but IMO that doesn't make any sense, because there's obviously not any kind of voice altering used in the phone call.

The funeral guy was definitely weird. I’ll pay closer attention to him on the second watch (and his voice as well) **and he falls in line with my “not being a major character” statement** Maybe you and Dani are both right... Maybe it’s a two person job like Stu & Billy in Scream. 😮 June and the funeral guy working together 😱😉🙃 I just think it’s fun to think of the whole film being a confession of the creators.

Ps.
How did you feel about AMERICAN BEAUTY? Like I said, finding out the cause of Spacey’s death I thought was super lame...
Much better to let people debate.

And wait...
What does similar clothes to Kahane mean? I mean, funeral guy and Kahane were friends, good chance they had similar styles.
I guess I’m not seeing the connection?
Hmmmmmmm 🤔
And the “deadman” comment... If Kahane and June and Funeral guy all knew eachother it could have been all of them combined... And the Kahane gets killed, and June kinda backs out.
I dunno 😫

Movie time... Hell Comes to Frogtown🙈 Never seen it before, even though I loved Rowdy Roddy Piper. Yesterday was the anniversary of Roddy’s death. Rest In Peace. And I remembered that I had never taken the time to watch this. Somebody watch with me so I’m not the only crazy person here. 😝
