I had only known of the Kris Kristofferson / Barbara Streisand version, but apparantly Judy Garland did one and there was another version before that. Anyway like I said, I went in not knowing the story really. I thought itd just be a happy overly cute love story about a girl with musical ambitions that meets a successful male muscian that helps her open up and rise to the top. I didnt know about the more dramatic and semi dark moments of the film. It made it less of a garbage film. I loved the lighting and cinematography - it was all done really well. I heard Bradley Cooper made a couple big changes to the original story (ill have to either google or just watch the other versions to find out). I enjoyed it all, Enough to watch it a second time, and may even end up purchasing it to own (not sure though). The music is great. There are some fun appearances by other actors / musicians. One of our Seattle artists Brandi Carlile is in it for a moment. <3 And there are a few other NW / Seattle references which made me happy. real good over all. Also I was pretty pleased with Gagas acting. I dont think it was an Oscar winning performance, but I thought she did a great job.
